We took the bus to the lavender farm from downtown Queenstown. The walk from the Arthurs Point stop to the farm (1.7km) isn't the safest feeling (very little roadside shoulder) but is pretty. The shop is small but well stocked and had everything I hoped it would. We met Shane and she walked us through the process of growing and distilling lavender. The plants were not in bloom (most), need to visit in Dec-Feb probably. The farm was still beautiful. I loved Scarlet the dog! She's wonderful:) they have a collection of flowers grown for weddings also. I would definitely visit again!

We stopped in on our travels to see the farm, but called first to make sure they were open as per their websites recommendation.
Shane is very friendly and lovely and she certainly knows her lavender! The farm is beautiful and the lavender fields stunning.
She walked and talked us through the farm's history and lavender production and has a little shop where you can but the products produced on the farm...we would recommend you take half an hour and pop in...also say hello to the friendly cat Nala

Surrounded by spectacular scenery, the Ben Lomond lavender Farm is a small farm over a hilly area, just off of Malaghans road, a short drive Northeast of Queenstown. The tour of the facility will inform you about the various types of lavender, their growing requirements, harvest and processing to extract the oils and converting this aromatic plant into soaps, scents, perfumes, and other household items. A most instructive visit.

It’s a very good alternative thing to do in queenstown especially if your activity is canceled because of the weather conditions , besides the farm’s owners are very friendly and their farm is pretty.
There’s not much to do on the farm, think of it as going to the park, a very pretty, calm park.

Not much in bloom at the moment. Just a few spots of spring flowers. We weren't able to get through their number but the owner was very welcoming when we drove there anyway. Bought the lavender oil and spray!

Theres a small fee of 5 nzd per person. We were told if you purchase anything at the shop, theres no need to pay the fee.Even if you dont purchase anything, the 5 dollars is worth it because you get a short description /tour of the lavander farm on how they harvest it,process,etc..Such a wonderful place to visit while in queenstown..Away from the chaotic tourist in city center. But make sure you check their website first if they are open.I think it would be better if theres a coffee shop/restaurant within the area.It will be nice to enjoy an ice cream or shake while enjoying the lavander view in a hot weather.

The lovely owner was kind enough to open the shop though she was planning to be closed for the day. The shop has a lot of variety of products made by the owner. The fields are gorgeous with lovely photo opportunities among the lavender flowers.
