The staff were incredibly helpful throughout! Well trained and patient throughout the fitting process and at the desk at the end proved to be incredibly knowledgeable on how to package everything together (passes, rentals, transport...) to get me the best price and then recommend the best snow days for us to go up. Was incredibly useful! Their shop assistants were polite and had a ton of patience with us as we got kitted out for our ski trip. This care meant we had an absolutely fantastic day up the mountain today. There is nothing worse than ski boots that don’t fit and cause pain - we were able to enjoy a full day on the slopes completely worry free. Terrible customer service, rented a snow chain from this store, they gave me a broken snow chain with no hook at the end, paid for 3 days rental couldn't use it even a single day, sent an email with formal complian and asked for a full refund they don't even bother to reply my email. So disappointed with their customer service. There is a lot snow gear rental shop around don't go to this one .........

I think it’s important to have all your customer facing staff trained in customer service. Snowbiz got this right when we organised our skis there were seven of us friendly staff got us all sorted. my daughters skis were not right when we got up on the mountain and were turning. I ended up having to hire new ones up there the girl said could be few things and we were fine with the new ones $40 later !
When I returned them and said there was a problem the response was like can’t see why and was questioned as to was there really a problem!
The old saying the customer is always right clearly wasn’t part of the training!
I was pretty annoyed certainly didn’t appreciate being questioned about it and not offered any form of compensation something small like x% off next hire even ? who wants to pay twice for skis!
Shame as it left a bitter taste not great for snowbiz as I wouldn’t hire again from there nor recommend I said to friends that day about it they were like what! all from one interaction with an inexperienced staff member !

We received boots that were WAY too tight on the arch which ruined a full day of skiing and we got badly injured from this. Had to hire from Coronet Peak (which was AMAZING and much cheaper). Will never return here and don’t recommend at all. Completely negligent in fitting and ensuring comfort (which is key for a snow sport)… Hiring a set of skis,boots and poles is nearly the price of buying a whole set at SNOWBIZ. Daylight robbery.

Have used SnowBiz multiple times in the past and never had problems, however my experience with them this time was not the greatest and will not be returning after this :(
Had organised a one day lift pass and equipment hire package (I believe) with the team at the desk in the station, and then added on for another day hire to do Cardona which wasn't included in the package (that's was fine and we organised this through the hotel which was great).
Anyway, went to fit for ski and snowboard hire at SnowBiz and service by the two young boys was great! Although, my sisters skis were slightly tight around the calves and were uncomfortable after long wear. Maybe not fitted right, but my board and boots hire for snowboarding was great and performed really well.
I really liked the offer for performance equipment, but was definitely more priced than standard hire. I had not shopped around and we had used these guys in the past, but their price was high in my opinion, but don't know what other shops were like to compare.
I would recommend, if you can, bringing your own helmet as it was $12 per day which just seemed like they were continuously trying to get more money out of me after the board and boots hire, plus insurance. Not saying it was a bad price, just saying I will be bringing my own next time for cost saving!
My issues came on the second day where we were greeted by the owner (I believe) to leave our skis/board overnight. We were hit with another cost, $5 each to store the skis/boards overnight. This cost may seem small but after paying for the hires the night before we didn't expect to get hit with another cost, and didn't think we got paid to leave the skis/board there the night before.
This instance did not piss me off with the cost, it was more so the attitude of the owner was very condescending, sarcastic and quite rude. This attitude was repeated with other visits too.
I chose to extend my board hire for another day which was not as user friendly as it seems. I had paid for the package like the first day again at the station and went to extend my board hire at the SnowBiz shop, but forgot my lift pass card that day. He then tried to charge me for the amount at his shop and i had to explain to him that I had already paid for it at the shop. His attitude was very rude and very pushy.
He told me to come back in the morning to bring my card and pay for it then as he was busy that night, while leaving my board at the shop for another night. I told him I would come back in an hour to pay for it as I didn't want to do it in the morning so I could just get on the bus and go straight away. He was VERY pushy to leave my board at the shop but I continuously refused, I ended up walking my board back to the my hotel as I was not going to pay more money to this rude owner.
The next afternoon I returned the board and boots hire to the girls at the return desk. He then arrived as I was taking off my boots and made sarcastic and condescending comments about my day.
Overall, the run ins with the rude owner really ruined my respect and loyalty for this shop. Next time I won't be back :(

Staff rushed us and gave wrong information, wrong size gear which cost us time trying to rehire gear on a crazy busy day on the Remarkables. We were beginners and all lessons were apparently sold out. There were just too many people on the fields. It was dangerous. My daughter ended up on a lift by herself without the bar pulled down, no one told her to pull her safety bar down, she could have fallen out had it not been for the people behind her on another lift. She skiid down and fell because she was avoiding far too many people on the fields who stopped suddenly. There was no safety or concern whatsoever. No one helped her, she could have broken her arm. Staff only spoke to people who were wealthy looking and never bothered to help families who were obviously there for the first time. The cafe was chaotic. Food ran out, it was over crowded and hygiene was an issue. It was 30 mins to wait in line for bathrooms. We are so disappointed we spent so much money on such a disastrous holiday. Everyone except UBER and taxis, was a hustler in Queenstown, giving us wrong information just to profit from us. Or, they would avoid us thinking we can't pay. We walked out of many places because of this racist attitude. The sad thing is that hardly anyone we encountered in these misfortunes were kiwis...most were foreigners themselves trying to make a buck in Aotearoa. The only thing that saved this holiday was the beautiful natural scenery and destinations...but the businesses and tour companies were Awful. If I do this trip again I would Not book any Tourism Queenstown activities. Total Rip-off, compared to so many other countries. 😕😟🙁☹😡🤬. Tourism Board need to regulate some of these rip-strategies targeting unsuspecting customers like us. My daughter was so sad and it put a damper on our first holiday together in 2 years.

Staff are lovely and helpful. Can’t say the same for the owner/manager that was nothing short of horrible and aggressive. I was needing a refund as the bindings on my snowboard rental broke twice and therefore meant I had to re hire a new board on the mountain. Don’t every do reviews but the bloke annoyed me so much I told him I’ll do one.
Arguing over $70 when I hired over $200 work of gear and had to re hire on mountain.

The staff were pleasant and trying their best but the quality of the ski gear was quite poor. The actual skis were fine but the helmets were a bit worn and my ski boots were AWFUL. I was in extreme pain with them. Not because they were the wrong size but because they were in really poor condition and the inner lining had completely worn down and provided no padding so my toes were completely compressed against the inner plastic. It didn’t matter how much I loosened them it was the poor quality/disrepair of the boots.
It was so bad that I ended up just getting new equipment up on the mountain (we had limited ski time and I didn’t have time to go back into Queenstown to replace them). The boots provided at the mountain were much much better- brand new and better quality. I had no issues at all. My friend who I was travelling with who is a very experienced skier also found the boots very poor (they were painful and the bindings were worn and loose).
I told the staff at Showbiz when I dropped the equipment off and while they apologised there was no offer of any compensation/refund which was really disappointing.

Fast, and good attention to detail. Got a great fit for skis and boots and they're really good value. The team there were really passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. Great location too, the Ski Bus for Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski areas also departs from right outside the shop.

Great service hiring gear to out party of five. Snowbiz staff were fast and efficient with fitting us all. We had two newbie skiers, two intermediate and an experienced skier. They were able to cater to all our needs with good advice and good equipment. Great when returning the gear too. Super easy to deal with at a busy point in the season. Highly recommend.
