Edita our guide was very knowledgable - her areas of expertise covered history, geology, local mythology and of course oenology! She kept us entertained between tastings. The vineyards and wines we sampled and lunch we had were all well chosen and memorable. Ulrike and Fritz from Hawkshead particularly so!

Our guide, Philip Green, who has his WSET Wine Diploma from the UK, put together a comprehensive and information-packed one-day tour of Central Otago for our group of wine lovers from San Diego, including Burgundy fans and members of the Chevaliers du Tastevin. Our stops: Amisfield, Carrick, Peregrine, Carrick (for lunch), Aurum (a wonderful boutique started in 1997 by Joan... More

Just your ordinary, friendly New Zealanders taking tourists to small genuine family run vineyards. It was a very pleasant day, sampling some blends and grape varieties I had never heard of before. Fascinating, informative and no fuss or forced to purchase. The lunch spread was also simple and tasty with a wide ranging antipasto of local produce. A lovely day... More

Our guide Martin was excellent. He knows the area and offered lots of information about the history, culture, flora and fauna as well as the wines which made the tour more fun. The antipasto lunch was perfect with paired wines.

Not being "wine buffs" we were a teensy bit apprehensive about the others who'd share the experience. However, from the moment the friendly, knowledgeable guide, Paul picked up our fellow travellers we were hooked!! Americans, Australians and us from Dunedin. All four wineries had their own special things to remember - each one different but such fun. The delicious food... More

Did a 1/2 day tour with Appellation. They were terrific and accommodating to my requests. I had done another wine tour the day before and they made arrangements for me to visit other wineries that I had not visited. The driver and guide was terrific. Highly recommend them.

From someone who has never done wine tasting before and who doesn't particularly like Pinot Noir, I can safely say it was an interesting and enjoyable tour. Four vineyards, each offering 4 - 6 samples. We were picked up by the tour minibus from our hotel by our guide who knowledgably helped us through the tastings and who obviously had... More

We booked via email with Lis to cater to our preferences on what we'd like to taste. Martin our guide was fantastic. He was relaxed and knowledgeable on both the local region and the wineries we visited which made for a lovely afternoon discovering new wines. Would definitely recommend.
