Scotty and JD were awesome guides. We ended up on a "private tour" with Scotty as it was just my partner and myself booked in for the 4 hour kayak tour. Scotty had great banter, good jokes and was very knowledgeable about Milford Sound and Fiordland in general (history, myths and facts including the Māori names for everything). The penguins and seals were a little shy but kayaking into Hine Te Awa (Bowen Falls) and having the fjord to ourselves with ZERO noise pollution, definitely made up for it! Very lucky to have visited on a calm day. Photos don't do the trip any justice. Would highly recommend this company if you want a complete Milford Sound experience!! P.s. Thanks Scotty!

We were lucky our trip was not cancelled after Milford Road being damaged and closed. They made the best of a bad situation with closed road. Maybe we misread the description as we assumed we will kayak much further and cruise back.. Guide was nice, good instructions and stories underway. We felt safe. Weather was just before storm so the plus was we were only one on the water all trip long but we could not see top of fjords surrounding us. A bit boring paddle as it's just one long straight line, where you can see your end target all the way, so no new or surprising views underway. Because we had to make it for convoy trip was shorter then in description (return at 14 but after 12 we were already back) Take sandfly repellent.

Very organized group. They provided thermals as well as the rest of the kayaking equipment that we needed. Remember to be water shoes or the like as they do not provide that. They picked us up at the hotel and took us five minutes down the road to the put in place. The woman who is in charge of a group of a kayak was knowledgeable and made sure that everybody was safe and comfortable in their boats. My husband and I paddled a little slower than the rest but I they did wait for us. Scenery was beautiful and kayaking was easy as the wind was calm. Highly recommend using Roscoes. if you need a place to stay they also have a bed-and-breakfast which we did stay at as well, it was lovely as well.

We were a group of 3 and I let the other 2 team up and I went with a stranger. Worst kayaking experience ever. This "stranger" did no work at all, holding on to the paddle like a tea cup. I basically had to paddle for both of us all the way through. Completely ruined the experience for me. The other 2 had a blast though lol TL;DR - Don't pair up with a stranger, unless you know they're an experienced kayaker.
