Wonderful kayaking experience!! All gear was provided at no extra charge, and even in the NZ winter, we were warm and stayed dry. The tour guides were knowledgable and quite funny. They allowed us to paddle at our own pace, but we wanted to stay close to them in order to hear all the interesting stories they told and to get the photos they recommended.

My partner and I were lucky enough to attend one of this company’s tours at the end of June, as an activity for our honeymoon. We loved every minute! We did the Sunriser Classic with Damo and he was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We were very lucky as we were the only other tourists their so we chatted away, saw so many incredible sights and learnt a lot along the way. It’s best to have some degree of exercise tolerance, however at the same time you are able to stop and rest if needed. Don’t be put off by rain – it rained the whole 3 hours and it only made it more magical with lots of waterfalls. The company provided thermals if needed and appropriate waterproof gear. We stayed warm and relatively dry.

3rd time doing a rosco’s kayaking trip and as always was brilliant. So much better than the cruise. We completed it in the winter and we’re given all the gear needed. Only thing missing from previous trips was the hot lemon drink, thanks covid😂 also got into a race with our instructor that was totally rigged, he must have had a motor on his kayak😉 thanks again

We had an amazing kayak tour with a really nice tour guide Austin. He told us a lovely story about the what the Maori believe to be the origin of Milford Sound. It was such an amazing sight from the water. We would definitely recommend it to anyone!!

As a local of Te Anau, Roscoe's Kayaks was an experience on the list, but something I had just never quite got around to. Having a group of friends down from university gave me the opportunity to show the best that Fiordland had to offer, and on a whim we decided to go for a spin with Roscoes. 2 thoughts 1) Superb decision 2) Why on earth did I not do this a decade ago. Our guide, Daymo, was excellent. he was engaging, funny, and so knowledgable throughout our entire experience, without once giving if the air of going over the same stagnant information that you sometimes get on the typical tours. Felt like a mate along for the kayak. Milford was quiet, we had it to ourselves and this was honestly a once in a lifetime experience courtesy of a niggly little pandemic, so make the most of it. The majesty and scale of the sounds is so hard to comprehend, but you truly feel part of it being on the water. Roscoes is a genuine family business, run with an extreme level of professionalism mixed with the authenticity of love for the place they operate.
