the pilots might change after a while, but the senior staff and owners which are actively involved in all part of the business keep it always most reliable and flexible. as with all business: the people who run it, the people you encounter make it what it is!

I will admit I was terrified to fly in such a small plane (a 10-seater) but it seemed like a much better option than hanging my head over the rail of the ferry for an hour. The trip to Stewart Island was quick and even though it was bumpy at times, it was OK because it didn't last too long.... More

Why bother with the Ferry when you can be on the Island in just over 30 minutes. We felt safe and looked after. Value for money and not much more than paying for the Ferry. Love Stewart Island. It's so relaxing and laid back. The South Seas Hotel sell the best food. Crayfish and Seafood are their specialty

Flying to Stewart Island is the only really reliable way to go if you are not a good sailor, the ferry trip can be very "lumpy" as the Foveaux Strait is very changeable, with even on relatively calm days, high sea states and high winds. The flight over is relatively short with spectacular views of Southland, Foveaux Strait and Stewart... More

I took a flight to Mason Bay - the turbulence was awesome. We couldn't land at Duck Creek so the pilot did a big banking turn to land at the gutter. What a way to start a tramp! I also got a ride back to Invercargill.

These guys went out of their way to help us locate a bag our Motel had lost and get it back to invercagil for us. Good flights on a tiny plane which made it fun and they take you right to the town centre.

We flew over on a calm partly cloudy day and my son was lucky enough to sit up beside the pilot. The pilot was friendly and helpful and gave us clear concise safety instructions and we were more than confident in his ability. Once we arrived on the island a van was there to collect us and drop us to... More

You can either take a very short flight from Invercargill to Stewart Island, or you can take a much longer ferry. If your time is limited on Stewart, I would recommend maximising your time there and not on the journey-- Take the plane! The airline is nice, easy to use, and not terribly expensive. The flight takes about 30 minutes.... More
