Amazing! The whole set up was brilliant. From the very start, everyone made us feel welcome and relaxed. I was a compete newbie to horses but felt reassured and relaxed as I was introduced to Mac. Alex had Lucas and she loved him. I will say that the trek was a lot steeper than I was expecting. We are in... More

During our roadtrip in New Zealand we wanted to ride horse on the beach and we chose Hare Hill Horse Treks at random and it was a good random. The ranch owner Oliver is very welcoming and kind. He loves more than all his animals and he knows how to relay you his passion. This is a family ranch far... More

I have always wanted to ride a horse on the beach even though I am not an experienced rider. I was promised a wonderful ride and was not disappointed. It was a brilliant experience and I was looked after one-to-one by Cheryl who was a lovely companion who thoroughly looked after me, ensured my safety and told me all about... More

We've done a few horse riding holidays and on our 21 days tour through New Zealand visited about four different stables. This one has stood out for us for a number of reasons: 1) The horses were amazing! Really responsive, well kept and looked after. As we were doing a lesson, we were able to tack the horses and get... I'm an experienced rider who hasn't been in the saddle for a while. I LOVED everything about Hare Hill. Cheryl (my guide) was lovely, Mack (my horse) was one of the best I've ridden and Oliver (the owner) was helpful and kind. Will be back for lessons and aim to immerse myself back into horses thanks to Hare Hill welcoming... More

We did a two hour trek with two adults and 4 children (aged 5, 6, 2 x 10). Oliver and his team perfectly matched horses with riders ability. The view was stunning, the staff very friendly, and the hilly terrain made for a great ride. Would be happy to recommend to any level of rider.

We were promptly picked up from our cruise ship and traveled a short drive to the stables. They had the horses ready and boots and vests for the ride if necessary. It was just the 2 of us. The views were 360 degrees of spectacular bay views. Our ship started to look rather small from the top where we stopped... More

We have two boys, aged 8 and 11, both excited to ride horses and they weren't disappointed. Oliver and Cheryl were great hosts to us and we had an absolutely wonderful time! The boys enjoyed the entire session with the horses while we caught a stunning view of the bay!

Natalie and I spent a fantastic few hours on the backs of Harry and Lucas, two beautiful horses, being accompanied by Alana who was very friendly, chatty and a good tutor to two people with no horse riding experience to speak of. The horses are trained to follow eachother, but even so it was great fun being given the reins... More

We arrived at Dunedin in October aboard a cruise ship and had booked with Hare Hill on our own, prior to arrival. We were picked up promptly at the dock and a short car ride took us to Hare Hill. When we booked, we had the option of riding horses in the hills or along the beach. We choose the... More
