We stopped and visited Signal Hill in Dunedin on a chilly, rainy day last February. Although the view was nice and interesting, unfortunately the weather robbed us of the enjoyment that we would probably have had in good weather. As it was we scurried back to the bus after a few quick looks - hardly doing the location justice. It was nicely landscaped and maintained and the view was nice, but.......

If you’ve got 30 minutes in dunedin signal hill is the perfect excursion. The best view of dunedin city, makes tiki realise how big it actually is. Great for sunrise and sunset as well

Fantastic free activity! We started the day by walking Baldwin St. & then taking the adjacent street up to Signal Hill Road which takes you to the viewing summit. You will be rewarded with a wonderful panoramic view of Dunedin and the surrounding peninsula. We took the bike trail down... took us about 4 hours to do the entire trip.

Great views of the city. Parking area. No services. I think there is a mountain bike trail from the top down. I tried to ride my mountain bike UP. Not quite in good enough shape at 65, and frankly when I was in GREAT shape, oh, maybe 3 decades ago, i couldn’t have done it then either. If you are like me, then drive up

My friend and I drove here after our meal at Saint Clair. Beautiful location however we went on a cloudy day so didn't quite get the best view that we could have. Would love to come back when the weather is a bit nicer.

Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Dunedin for a few days (or if you’re into mountain biking). Would definitely recommend driving - walking can be a bit difficult with a lack of paths on the road.

Not far out of the city centre. Worth the drive up here to get a great overview of Dunedin and the Peninsula if you have a car.

Well worth a trip to check out the expansive views. Make sure you go at night too to see all the lights!

Do I just input Signal Hill on the GPS and it should bring me to the lookout point ?
Thanks.

Please input "Signal Hill Lookout" , that brings you bang on the spot. No worries. All through my travel in NZ, I relied on Google Maps and only Google Maps, did not face any issue
