Mark was our guide, and extremely knowledgeable. As a high school biology teacher during the school year, he had a great background and the ability to point out things that we would easily have missed. His knowledge of the area was also very good.

It was a very hectic scene at the pier the day our Princess ship visited Dunedin and there was another Royal Caribbean ship in port. Despite the commotion, our mini-bus left at around the revised departure time of 9:30. The trip took us to the railway station which was fun and several other sights that were designated as photo stops... More

Our first time in New Zealand! Les,our tour guide/bus driver was wonderful! We learnt so much! It was so interesting! He was so knowledgable of the area and we couldn't have chosen a better person to spend the day with and show us around. Les took us all around Dunedin. We toured the train station which was great, Lanarch Castle... More

My wife and I toured New Zealand (DunedIn, Akaroa, and Tauranga) on a cruise last week and we only had 6 to 7 hours on each of these locations to explore. I found the Back to nature tours via trip advisor owing to popular reviews and they sure did live up to my expectations. Mark was our driver guide in... More

We were picked up from our cruise ship at Port Chalmers, we weren't provided a pick up time, and so we disembarked as soon as possible, causing us to have to wait for quite a while, as pick up wasn't till 9:30am. We didn't see too much straight up, as it was overcast. It was hard to see the old... More

The highlight of our excursion was heading down on to the beach to find 2 sea lions sleeping. Our tour covered what was described when I booked. We disembarked the ship early expecting a 9am pickup, but heard from other passengers who also had bookings, that it had been pushed back to 9.30. The Otago Peninsula and Dunedin are very... More

We went on a cruise around New Zealand and decided to book a tour with Back to Nature Tours so we could get to know Dunedin. Mark was our tour guide, he was awesome! He was super friendly and knew Dunedin as if it was his backyard. He told us a lot about the place and was on time during... More

The trip out to the peninsula was fantastic! Mark, my driver, was very knowledgeable about all the birds and history of Dunedin. The scenery is beautiful and we got to see seals on the beach, black swans, and lots of ducks and their chicks. If you only have a short time to visit, this is the tour to book. The... More

This was an excellent tour with Daniel our tour guide and driver. He talked about Dunedin and the surrounding area non stop and was very informative. With him we saw nesting yellow eyed and blue peguins plus soaring albatrosses. Wonderful tour of the countryside.

We were on a Princess Cruise and arranged the Back to Nature Dunedin tour independently through Shore Excursions.com. It was part of a two part package tour which also include a tour during our stop in Wellington. We are glad we had independently arranged these tours. Chris our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and provided us with an enjoyable few... More
