Super friendly guides, stunning scenery and just real good value for money - we spotted a whole albatross colony only 3 mins. out of the harbour! The guide will tell you about the wildlife as well as the history and geography of the area. The boatride is equal parts beautiful and educational, and it is simply the right way to... More

First class tour, from Otago Harbour to Taiaroa Head . Monarchs shipper and staff were brilliant. We were looked after very well with warm coats ,hot drinks , binoculars and wonderful commentary . The scenery and wildlife we saw was stunning and the skipper went that extra mile to make sure the saw lots and lots.

I recently went on the 1 1/2 hour cruise in the morning. We had constant interesting comments on what we were looking at and we saw an NZ sea lion, Royal Albatross, many other albatross, dolphins, a host of sea living birds. The boat is as comfortable as the sea conditions at the time allow, but is very safe. There... More

We were picked up at our apartments at 9 am and taken to Lanarch Castle. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, our guide Bruce made it so enjoyable. He was knowledgable, good fun and kind. We were then taken by mini bus to the boat and enjoyed a spectacular cruise around the peninsula. Saw all the wildlife we were promised, the guides... More

We took the Monarch 2 1/2 hour wildlife trip round Otago bay. Warm overcoats and binoculars were provided for all who needed them. The commentary was interesting and demonstrated a good knowledge of the local wildlife, and the helpful crew were always around to identify the species and ensure no one missed anything. At each opportunity the boat attempted to... More

Small boat leaves the harbor every couple of hours to view seals and seabirds. The guy is very chatty and knowledgeable about everything that you get to see and will take the boat in close for a close look and good camera shots all in all it was a fun time

Although the weather was not the best the crew persevered and made sure we got the best views, we saw yellow eyed penguins, albatross, seals, shags a sea lion, and our grandchildren of 8 years were so excited by what they saw the weather was not a problem.
