There's a notice saying 6000 Christchurch children were asked what they wanted in a playground. It seems they have put in everything. Flying foxes, sand, water features, climbing structures, slides in tunnels etc...with not a swing in sight.
Good too that the whole thing is built on soft padding in case of falls.
Congratulations, we are well impressed.

Our 18 month old was in heaven at this playground. It’s got something for all ages. We could easily have spent an entire day here. The area the playground covers is huge so while there seemed like hundreds of children there was plenty of space for everyone to have a good time! A few food trucks around as well if anyone gets hungry. Absolutely fantastic place to spend time with your children!

A wonderful creative facility for a wide age group.
The flying fox was our 4 year old grandsons favourite.
The rope climbing frame is also a marvellous construction.
Lovely to enjoy time sharing in simple healthy fun and play.
Margaret Mary will be honoured and smiling

Pretty cool playground for all ages. I'd recommend going with kids if you're going during the day. Kinda feels bad to use the equipment when there are other younger peeps waiting on you. My favourite is the swing. You can get some mean air. There is also the turning circle thing you have to have good balance on to stay for a whole cycle? Not sure what that piece of equipment is called soz. Almost every piece of equipment is oversized so can be used by any ages/heights. I visit this park pretty regularly.

As our hotel is within walking distance, we came to this playground twice. The first was on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy with lots and lots of families. There were still enough space for everyone to play. On a Wednesday afternoon we came back and it was relative empty and our children were able to spend 2+ hours enjoying the grounds. The playground equipment are relatively new and clean.
It is also located along the creek so you can have a nice walk along the bank and what the punting boats travel by.

For children of all ages, had a lot of fun and could have easily spent the whole day there. We did in fact return another day. Fabulous, safe environment, for the most quiet to the most exuberant children all loved the park

We couldn't help but visit this family playground that we had heard so much about. With our grandson living in the UK and little chance of being together any time soon we loved watching other families enjoy the myriad of things to keep kids and parents happy for hours. What a great addition toe Christchurch and a must visit for families with kids!

Go to New Regent Street, buy an ice cream, then wander around this charming playground as dusk falls. Nothing could be more romantic or fun. If you have kids, of course, go early and stay long.

This is the largest, coolest playground we have found in the states and in New Zealand. My son could've spent all day here! From multiple trampolines to climbing walls that have slides awaiting at the top to so much more!! Very nice and clean as well.

How long do you need for a visit?
Written July 16, 2018
30 minutes to an hour would be good. Longer if the kids like it and the adults fancy a coffee.
