It's even better now! Spencer Park has upgraded their facilities and they are brilliant! This is a BIG park so much of room you are definitely not in each other's living room. Fabulous kitchen, a real joy to cook there, and do the dishes!! Beautiful...More

Staying at the park meant we could explore this place more. With pleanty of things to do. Head out in any direction for a walk towards the Styx river mouth. Wetlands with loads of birds and viewing areas, see the pictures attached. Head across the...More

The adrenalin run may be fun but the rest of it is a run down mess. I suspect the walks along the lagoon are quite nice the trails are not suitable for a stroller, even out off-road model. After looking at the trails and finding...More

Huge sandpit with water play, awesome flying fox. More relaxing for parents than Margaret Mahy (in town) fewer crowds, too. Great place for free play on a nice day.

This is an awesome place to take a picnic and either walk on the beach or take the kids to the playground or go to adrenaline forest ! You could spend the whole day here. Definitely worth a visit.

Spencer Park is a well kept secret in Christchurch. It is twenty minutes out of town but is a conservationist's delight. A large ranging area with walks through seaside native vegetation to a wild beach with crashing waves. Even watching the waves is an experience...More

Once the road finishes at Waimairi Beach, one walks until Spencer Park is reached. There, one will find an ice-cream shop (cafe closed) before hiking on to the Waimak mouth. If you prefer to "cheat" go by car or bus and indulge in the many...More

Great fun to be had at the park and pool. Make sure you go and visit the animals. Chickens and pigs tucked away, free to pet, could be better sign posted
