there nothing so special but the history to it is amazing how it withstood the quake which happened in 2011. thou there were damages, after a heavy amount was spent it was reconstructed. Good for a click!

Among the empty lots and construction sites of central Christchurch, the corner of Montreal and Victoria is intact and the clock tower utterly charming, a case of Gothic not being stuffy. I visited in the evening, with drizzly weather, so didn't catch a photo.

I was amazed to find this clock tower still standing when so much constructed in the same era was damaged. It is a lovely tribute to the Victorian era, beautifully constructed.

I stumbled upon this while walking around town. It's just a beautiful clock tower that thankfully survived the quakes.

It's great to see that this icon of Christchurch, has been saved and restored. It was a pleasure to see. However, I've seen it and can now move on. Here's hoping the many other earthquake damaged buildings can be quickly restored / rebuilt.

Probably looks a little out of place where it is - but maybe that just adds to its quirkiness! Am so glad to have seen it and would have been disappointed if we hadn't and found out... More
