I have been going to New Zealand for a number of years both North Island and South Island. The Maroi culture has become interesting to me and the last few times I was in the south Island this was on my bucket list and I never really got to it. Until this past January. Now I have done the Wildlife... More

We came here for the complete Kiwi tour and Maori experience whilst in Christchurch. It was certainly not cheap so we had high hopes... unfortunately it was a big let down. The Kiwi tour was underwhelming to say the least, sweet guide but seemed very nervous and struggled to communicate the facts. There was a lot of descriptions of animals... More

The wildlife park is very dirty, smelly and run down and makes me sad for the animals that have to live there. Unfortunately the Ko Tane Maori cultural experience was a major disappointment. The teenage 'host' was unorganised, had poor communication skills and even less knowledge. The Maori 'warrior' looked like a pale office boy who hadn't been outdoors for... More

It was very interesting learning about the local wildlife and the challenges they face. It was difficult to spot the Kiwis in the dark, it looking at the pictures I noticed that I had captured one. Learning about the Maori tradition was interesting, but a pity that we didn't get to see the Hangi.

This place is great. The guide was very knowledge and informative on why NZ does not have any native fauna, only native birds, and the negative impact the introduced species have on wildlife such as the kiwi. You can see kiwis during the tour. Jordan our host for the Maori performance is great and very friendly - and has a... More

I'm from Christchurch and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience! I would recommend heading to Willowbank maybe a hour prior to this experience so you can walk around the park and look at the different animals :) At 4.30 we met with Amelia who was amazing and was very experienced with her knowledge of the NZ Kiwi's and she showed us... This was a wonderful evening which we both enjoyed. The Maori presentation was entertaining and performed with real passion and enthusiasm. The audience participation was a good addition. The meal after was very good with the Hangi meats very tender. Fully recommended as an end of day experience if you are in Christchurch

Our first evening in New Zealand and it seemed fitting we should experience and learn a little about the Maori culture. Great pick-up and drop-off service from our Airbnb added to a fun evening. Audience participation is a must and adds to the overall understanding of why the traditions of the Maori runs strong and are a part of nearly... More

An amazing experience. The Kea sat on.my head for ages. We touched the kiwi and learnt about the beginning of willowbank, how it all started. We watched the Maori welcome and dancing. Very interesting and then went for the dinner. Was a little disappointed because I really thought they would show us the hangi and remove from the ground. But... More

I went here with Christchurch's New Zealand School of Tourism as we are currently studying Maori tourism. The Maori experience was incredible and really gave myself and my classmates a good insight to what the Maori culture is like. I would recommend visiting here to everyone!! :)
