What a joy the tram is, like stepping back in time. A ticket lasts all day and you can hop on and off. The commentary is friendly, informative and occasionly funny. A regular service means you can jump off and visit lots of places. The trams are clean if a little uncomfortable at times but only to be expected on... More

Very lovely trip around central Christchruch with great commentary by the 'motorman'. It is sad to see all the devastation from the 2011 earthquake but also great to see the rebuilding that will make the city vibrant once again.

Wonderful evening. Fun on the tram delightful meal of a high standard. Welcoming staff. Definitely would go again for a special occasion. Perhaps tram journey could be 20 to 30 minutes less.

Very much enjoyed our evening trip on the dining car.For such a limited space in the kitchen they produced excellent food.Interesting way to see the city although the route is quite short due to the earthquake damage.

Rode the tram on our recent visit to Christchurch, to begin with it was mainly for the kids who really wanted to, but such an amazing experience for all, the commentary was fantastic and really helped orientate you with the city as it is now and as it was. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, great value for money. A must... More

The Christchurch Tramway is an excellent way to get around central Christchurch. The damage done to the tracks in the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes has been repaired and the tram provides visitors with excellent views of the city as it is being rebuilt -- and some that are not yet being restored, such as Christchurch Cathedral was during my visit.... This was a surprisingly good attraction. Our original plan was simply to use the tram tickets to get around, but as it turned out the excellent commentary, friendly drivers and museum grade rolling stock impressed us greatly. We did the trams as part of the Grand Tour which includes a number of other attractions in a bundle deal, but the... More

Certainly 20 NZD well spent. Great way to get an over view of the central district with unlimited use throughout the day. Good interaction between the driver, conductor and passengers. Not the most comfortable mode of transport but lots of fun.

The cost was $20 per person and it was worth it. The tram drivers were very knowledgable about the city, the old and new buildings and were really helpful about where to go when you hopped off at different stops. They even waited if they saw you hurrying to the tram stops. Highly recommend this tour.
