It's the ultimate Antarctic adventure! Experience the dramatic seasonal lighting in the four seasons of Antarctica show where it 'snows' every 6 minutes. Venture out on to 'the ice' from Scott Base to play in 'Antarctica' the snow & ice experience and survive an Antarctic storm! How long can you hold your hand in the icy Antarctic water? Hang out with Little Blue Penguins, buckle up for the famously exciting Hagglund ride, take an awesome simulated 4D Antarctic cruise, watch Happy Feet 4D, then watch a stunning movie on a MASSIVE screen! It's the closest you'll get to Antarctica without mounting your own expedition!

Apart from the infrastructural tripartite NZ-US-Italy scientific collaboration and their USAP prominent administration and warehousing when we approach the airport there is a majestic structure with floating penguins attached, again like a hangar: That is the attraction for tourists: a little universe full of material documents, memorabilia, theatricalized narratives, exhibits, a hagglund ride with an antarctic vehicle. a freeze channel... I set out to visit the centre before my flight home and was informed by the curt ticket seller lady that the entry free was $40 and the centre closed in one hour! When I asked if there was any discretion as I would only be able to take a one hour visit the curt lady aggressively fingered the entry... More

I never knew that all the research expeditions to Antarctica leave from here. Wish we'd had more time to really enjoy the exhibits. Our guide tried to give us the high points of the centre. I found this very interesting although some members of our group did not.

We enjoyed the penguin feeding and the ride but it was difficult for my 2 year old as it isnt really aimed at younger kids. It is an awesome place for older kids and adults though there is a lot of amazing information and heaps of fun exibits. We were not able to go to the 4D cinema unfortunately and... More

A few friends and I decided to visit the Antarctic Centre whilst we had a few hours to kill before our flight. I'm not 100% sure what I expected but definitely more than what we saw. It's very small, the Penguins have the tiniest enclosure and it's very expensive for what there is on offer. The customer service staff need... More

I had mixed feelings about this place. The staff were very friendly and informative, the building was well laid out and maintained with great informative displays. I loved the storm stimulation, however was a bit disappointed with the penguin exhibition. I was expecting to see Arctic penguins, however all up the family enjoyed it, with the highlight being the 4D... More

My hubby is ex-Antarctic so coming here was a treat and walk down memory lane from him. We spend out last morning in NZ here. I was looking forward to the Hagglund ride as I had not been on one before. The drivers were really professional and they DO care about everyone's safety throughout the whole ride. There were lots...
