We did the 1 day experience from Hanmer to Molesworth. Superb personal experience from start to finish. Friendly, competent guide. Chris shared a wealth of knowledge about the area and its history, flora and fauna. Morning tea and lunch supplied. Delicious. As a less than nimble senior I was worried about " being a bother." At no time did I feel this thanks to Chris' encouragement and respect. I can only say. a magical experience well worth the price. Thank you. I would definitely do it again.…

I enjoyed the back-country 4wd experience but the highlight was the trip to D'Urville Island. I have been through French Pass several times by boat but always at slack water. This time Dennis took us through at half tide on our way to some fantastic fishing (My wife caught six keepers , she has never been fishing before), and then back again against the flow to return to the resort. The resort was as good as any accommodation I have been in, it looked brand new. And Dennis cooked the fish perfectly. I should add that the success of the tour is down to Tour Leader Geoff who is friendly, helpful and full of stories about the places we visited. Thanks for the trip.…

This was a wonderful trip and Penny was a brilliant guide who told us heaps of information and looked after us superbly. She clearly loved the area and had such a lot of experience to share. We went to many out of the way places and they were amazing - loved the Awatere Valley, Karamea caves and Denniston and the Hokitika Tree Walk in particular but also many other specials. Enjoyed talking to the farmer on a station and the museum at Blacks Point and the old miners in Reefton. Also the delightful picnics - well done. Accommodation superb, meals amazing and Penny's driving always excellent and meant we could relax and enjoy the ride. Didn't like the seat belts in the back seats though - nearly cut our heads off. It was a great adventure and we all enjoyed the walks and the forest and being in the group. Much hilarity was had especially at Karamea!!…

A great tour, well organised yet with a seemingly laid-back guide, taking us to places we never would have experienced otherwise. You need a good high 4WD (our X-Trail wasn't quite up to it at times, so thanks to Geoff and Aiden for taking us in their vehicles when necessary); a sense of adventure, steady nerves, an ability to heft rocks, a good appetite, a head for heights, and the capacity to take it all in! Special thanks also to our High Country Station hosts, and D'Urville Island guides and hosts. A very memorable holiday.…
