We did the 1 day experience from Hanmer to Molesworth. Superb personal experience from start to finish. Friendly, competent guide. Chris shared a wealth of knowledge about the area and its history, flora and fauna.
Morning tea and lunch supplied. Delicious.
As a less than nimble senior I was worried about " being a bother." At no time did I feel this thanks to Chris' encouragement and respect.
I can only say. a magical experience well worth the price.
Thank you. I would definitely do it again.

An outstanding tour. Enabled us to see the Molesworth and enjoy it, with as much or as little cycling as wished. Accommodation was first class, including the shearing shed experience and the real high country dinner. Home cooking was a food feature, from morning and afternoon teas, to the lunches and dinners. A really first class NZ experience.

If one really wants to learn about a region, one must speak with the locals. Numerous opportunities to do just that were provided on our recent four-day bike trip with Geoff Swift’s Molesworth Tour Company.
Geoff’s has amassed a treasure-trove of knowledge about the Molesworth Station and its people from living thirty years in Marlborough region. Throughout our tour, he unselfishly shared this knowledge. Invited to sit down to scrumptious meals, we were introduced to a number of charming, knowledgeable station owners, vineyard proprietors, and other unique individuals. From the discussions at the tables, we learned about the satisfactions of raising families and difficulties of running businesses in that remote high-country. And for those characters in Geoff’s Molesworth history book with whom we could not meet, he related all the local lore through his gifted story-telling. All this, provided with outstanding trip organization and service, made our excursion a truly special and unique event.
We recommend Molesworth Tour Company without hesitation for those who want the extraordinary in a tour to this unique part of the South Island, New Zealand.

We have just returned home from a great trip with Geoff. Wonderful scenery around the Catlins - has left me a bit nostalgic for Lighthouses! The Whistling Frog was a fun place to stay and then on to Invercargill and the Bluff Oyster Festival. What a fun day with 20,000 oysters to devour heaps of different ways. Has always been a bucket list thing for me and definitely did not disappoint:) Intriguing accommodation in the Victoria railway Hotel in Invercargill. Really old worldly but very well done. Recommend the trip to everyone.

We went on the 4-day Molesworth Station Bike Ride and had a great time. The ride was challenging, but not overly so and Geoff was always close-by so you could jump in the van. He had perfect places to stay in the evenings and stop on the way, from a local station house with a home cooked meal to clean hotels at good restaurants. Geoff was fun, friendly, and full of great stories that filled anytime not spent riding. Would highly recommend this trip for people across all experience levels and age groups. Also, book through Geoff’s site!

What a wonderful treat for my husband and I to experience this most interesting and enjoyable trip through some incredibly beautiful scenery to the Molesworth and back. Our driver and tour guide Sue, unravelled a comprehensive history of the area from the first people to arrive in Marlborough, right through to the present. Her knowledge of both the people and the buildings was extensive, and most informative. We were privileged to go out with Geoff and Lee at this time of the year, because the countryside was exquisite with its glorious autumn colours as well as the snow on the surrounding mountains. Morning tea at Bill Stevenson's Upcot Sheep Station was absolutely delicious, and Lee's lunch was superb. It was altogether an amazing day!

For New Zealanders the opportunity to tread on this part of the High Country, which is so connected to the history of development of their nation, is quite rare. For those coming from other places, the beauty and variety to be experienced on the trip through gorgeous mountains, rivers and valleys must surely delight. In addition to the wonderful expanses of Molesworth and it's neighbouring stations, the inclusion in the four-day trip of a tour of the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, a visit to the Nelson Lakes and the hospitality of residents of those places was a nice contrast. Accommodation and catering were of a good standard and our guide, Trevor, demonstrated the highest standards of his profession. Molesworth Tours do a very good job. Molesworth Station is a national Treasure.

This was one of the best 5 day cycle trips we've done. Great to have a "local" to give you all the inside information :-) !! We're taking the family to do it again with us.

We had a fabulous trip with Molesworth Tour Company. Geoff our driver and guide was very relaxed and friendly and gave us an excellent tour - he has great knowledge of the family history of all the farms in the Awatere valley going back many generations and he imparts this knowledge in an interesting and amusing way.
We enjoyed the scenery from a comfortable air conditioned van, we had tasty home baked goods for morning tea in a shearing shed and met the farmer and his daughter. The coffee was really good at morning tea and lunch.
It was about an eight hour trip - we had plenty of stops on the way and opportunities to take photos.
Lee was a helpful correspondent prior to our trip sorting out dates etc.
I recommend this trip to everyone who loves to see the NZ countryside and who loves the history of NZ. I can't wait to do it again.
Thanks Lee and Geoff.

I would highly recommend Lee & Geoff Swifts Molesworth Tour Company - wonderful to phone, Lee answers (no ansafone menu) and gives sound advice about what to pack.
The tour was very informative and it was a bonus to learn so much about the Marlborough wine industry including a visit to Yealands state of the art establishment and a pruning lesson from my evening hosts.
Trip Highlights:
The warm welcome and gracious hospitality from families at homesteads visited
Outdoor picnics which magically appeared from the back of the van
Morning tea at Lake Tennyson, stunning scenery and perfect silence
Majestic high country scenery in autumn garb with accents of snow
And best of all our guide Geoff who made the trip so much fun. He is a gifted raconteur
with a fund of knowledge about the area and the people who lived here. He brought history to life with his stories of people and events in this harsh region.
SO GLAD I PUT MOLESWORTH ON MY BUCKET LIST
