My kids and I and their friends love the playground and we go there often. They are 10 and 12 now and started going there as pre-schoolers. Have also taken a couple of homestays there aged between 14 and 17. The best thing are the two parallel 50 m flying foxes so you can get two kids having a race. There's also a climbing pyramid, seesaws, swings, There are clean toilets there too and it's nice in warmer weather to take a picnic lunch or afternoon tea or snack and go there. The best place to park is on Brooklyn Road below the Renouf Tennis Centre where there's a zig zag path leading directly to the playground.

I wish it wasn't winter (even in May) when we visited this lovely park and hope to visit again in better weather conditions. And there is no entrance fee.

This is a lovely little park. Awesome flying fix and playground for the kids. Nice short walks and hill climbs.

I have walked in this park with a group and it is really pretty. But I wouldn't walk in the park alone. It feels to enclosed and isolated. I don't feel safe in it when I am alone.

For those travelling around New Zealand on a budget, this is an opportunity to get a bit closer to nature at no cost without straying far from downtown Wellington. The park has several tree-shaded trails - including various hilly ones (of course! This is Wellington, after all!) - a kid's playground, grassy areas, visiting parrots (kaka) from nearby Zealandia, and clean public toilets. There are several places in the park where you'll feel like you're hiking in the bush. On a summer weekday afternoon, there were very few people on the trails. Uncrowded. Nice.

This is a nice park to walk through if you're going from Brooklyn to the CBD. It only takes about 10 minutes, but there is a nice green forest and stream to observe on the way. The flat park area itself is nice too. There is a cool playground which includes a flying fox which is great for kids (and childish adults) . It's a good spot for a picnic or to have a look while passing through but I wouldn't go too far out of the way to visit it.
