The building suggests that there's a lot more going on inside but the belltower is out of bounds for visitors. I found the sculptures outside and around the building far more interesting and representative of the relationships NZ has had with its allies through war.

A fitting tribute to all the armed forces and well laid out. Lots of stories and opportunity to place your own poppy. An attendant there to answer questions and part of the overall well thought out park.

Very special, with some new memorial features outside. The memorial tree in the gardens is unique and so much history in the memorial building. We will remember them!

A poignant reminder of selfless sacrifice. A place to go and be still for a few minutes to stop and think about what others have done for us. Our democracy has been earned and preserved for use by others. I don't recommend the neighbouring public...More

Was a silent remeberance as I walk the stairs. With much respect for our fallen soldiers from all the wars.

It's easy to add this onto your Jackson tour of the WWI exhibition, to pay your respects for all the New Zealanders who have fought and died in the wide variety of theatres of global conflict.
