If you are a movie lover or just like movies, don't miss this place. We went here as part of our NZ tour and found it just amazing. The memorabilia, the Art Deco architecture and the included movie clips were just delightful.

Watched on Valentines the classic Romeo & Juliette then again tonight Highlander.
Love the venue with great attentive cafe and bar service.
Love the impromptu talk at the beginning of the film by the manager.

I come to the Roxy all the time - with family or friends or both.
Great location, two screens we know of, great toffee bonbons! Easy to book online especially if it gets busy at the counters.

Only went for a coffee on the chairs outside. Took 10 minutes for two flat whites to come and both were very Luke warm.Asked them to be heated by microwave but cauld n't because they had a metallic band on the cups. Waste of money for us. Won't be going back.

This was done up by Peter Jackson. Old world/boutique - quite different for a theatre. A bit far from the city centre but if you live close to the airport this is one I would recommend

Went there after visiting Weta workshops, is an interesting place but the Cafe leaves a lot to be desired, worst coffee I had in Wellington and service was ok, but felt as a visitor you were imposing on them.

Word-of-mouth at the nearby Weta Cave drew us to walk into the Roxy for a lookaround, and we're glad we did. The Taylors have done a wonderful job of restoring the Roxy tastefully -- it is not overdone and is very much in keeping with the art deco theme. The second level ceiling is only one of many impressive touches. It's nice that one of Richard's Oscars has found a home there.

I love the Roxy, they always show a good range of interesting movies and the service is always friendly. Clean and well presented Art Deco building. This is my choice of all cinemas in Wellington.

This is a really special cinema! The decor is absolutely stunning (the lights, the mural on the ceiling, the movie curtain, the statues, etcetera, etcetera) and they have wonderful events. I particularly enjoyed (awhile back now) seeing an old silent film for which they had a new score written and performed live by a talented group of musicians. It's fun to see an audience dress up to go to an event at the cinema. Always a memorable experience, will return for many more!
