Half Day Martinborough Winery Tour from Wellington

88 reviews
An hour or so north of Wellington, Martinborough is fast making a name for itself as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading wine regions. Each weekend, Wellingtonians make the trek over the Remutakas to escape to this European-style wine village. This small group tour is a convenient way to visit Martinborough. There’s no need to stress about driving on country backroads, and no need to plan the day’s itinerary - leaving you to focus on the wine and the iconic scenery.

We loved the show today but apart from the over officious woman telling us in a very bossy 1950s public service type patronising way what we couldnt do in the theatre, ( I think youre still allowed to fart though) the lighting/ sound guy decided it was important that the mainly middle aged audience be subjected to a smoke machine. The fact that in the first act one of the young singers literally had to stop singing because she was coughing so hard, and the men singing second didnt want the smoke either just didnt faze this back stage lad at all. It took the last act leader to actually make very pointed comments about it ( even the front couple of rows of aidience were coughing) before he got the message and took his finger off the trigger. How to try and spoil what was really a damned good show, but then the technical staff are always right eh?!? Except we gave two stars and wont be back

There was a musical show on at the erstwhile Downstage Theatre while we were in town recently and we found it good to be back in the interesting jigsaw cum jack-in-the-box building that is the Hannah Playhouse! It's also agood venue to have wine at at half-time, so to speak! Intermissions aere always welcome!

An event I was going to was moved to here. The staff are friendly and helpful, average price for drinks , seats are OK with lots of leg room .. would willingly book to see a show here in the future.

We attended a stand-up comedy show here. Was our first time here and once we fund the entrance and climbed up a lot of steps it was a good time.

On the off chance on our way through Wellington for one Sunday night we found out here was a 5pm performance of Hudson & Halls Live! Really enjoyable play in a very interesting venue. The theatre is a studio type theatre so you are very close to the stage and the seat taking us such that your view is not obscured! Always important !! Bar area is open with plenty space. For once in a theatre the prices are reasonable for drinks and ice creams! Great production to see with lively performances superbly acted out and great audience participation! Highly recommend looking this theatre up if you have a night or two in Wellington!
