What a delight! Yes, the milk chocolate is too dark for me but the experience was +10
I'm not a chocolate person per se and I took a group of 4 adults as an experience. Two older guys and two younger women and we had a great time. It was the perfect amount of explanation and achievable for the "non-cooks" to do. The host was clear and enjoyable. They deliver exactly what they promise. It was a great break from tours and museums in a fun, different neighborhood. I'd recommend it!

Great fun - something a bit different
Initially I thought the cost of $60 each for the factory tour was quite expensive, but it was great fun and probably worked out to be okay value for money as it was 90 minutes long, we had a hot chocolate and took home 3 chocolate bars and got a generous discount off other stock. I didn't realise they literally make the chocolate there so it was great finding out all about the process. The tour was well run with some great topping options. I'd recommend it to others.

    Awesome chocolate workshop
I booked the chocolatier experience and went there on the same day. The staff was kind, the workshop was interesting. It was so nice and fun to make chocolate yourself and get to learn something about the general manufacturing process of chocolate as well. Nice activity that lasts for about 2h, even the website itself says it‘s only 90min. Definitely worth a visit.

    Loved it.
Awesome afternoon making chocolate bars. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate which made for an enjoyable experience. The chocolate and toppings were YUM! Bonus hot chocolate is also served while you wait for your bars to set

A visit on a public holiday to the cafe was high anticipated - having read previous reviews we were eager to try the hot chocolate. Unfortunately the hot chocolate did not live up to expectations - bland would be my best description. If you want a better option try any local cafe.

This was a great way to learn about chocolate and make some unique chocolate bars. 90 minutes of delicious fun! We tempered chocolate, moulded and topped it with our chosen toppings and wrapped our 3 bars in artists paper. While we were waiting for the cars to garden we had a delicious hot chocolate. 10% discount on purchases!

Stopped in for a hot chocolate on a cold windy day. Which chocolate do you want? We had Peru. Wow. Single origin chocolate.

This is extraordinarily delicious- transcending "having a hot chocolate" to an experience.

Just loved it.

I booked this tour as we were planning to visit Wellington. Our Jetstar flight got canceled ( system outage which affected many flights and airports in July 24). Our hotel, rental car- everyone refunded 100%. I tried to cancel this tour in July, they didn't cancel but changed the date for this tour to Oct for us. Now, I called today on 30/8 to cancel my 26 Oct booking which is about 2 months away. But I have been advised only 80% will be refunded which is ridiculous. I hvnt used their services, hv given them enough time to fill those 2 spots, so why m I paying $24 dollars for? This is very disappointing. I paid $120, I would like a refund of $120. May b that's how they run the business by taking 20% cancelation fee. Even if I am going to Wellington , even if I start living there, I vl never visit this factory. I wish I can give zero or negative rating. Even one star is high for the service they provide.

First of all, don't believe the reviews on their website; they only post postive reviews. Due to an unreliable memory following a stroke, I forgot about the tour. I was reminded on the morning of a tour, but I couldn't make it, so I called the WCF and advised them. I was told that it was unlikely that I'd get a refund, but they could probably book me on a later date, I just had to email them. I emailed them, and their response was tough luck. If I had been advised that there would be no refund or postponement, I'd have tried to get someone else to take the tour. I am thoroughly unimpressed by the attitude of this business.

We stopped here during a food tour. One of the owners provided a tutorial on the making of chocolate starting with the cacao bean and its slimy interior all the way through the process until the finish product comes out.

This shop, hidden away in the alleys off Eva Street, not too far from the popular Cuba street, makes only organic chocolate. While the offer some concentrated chocolate (think 70% and more) their most popular items incorporate other flavors into the bars. You can stand at their production floor window and watch the product being made. It doesn't get any fresher than that.

Love this spot for working remotely while sipping on a delicious hot chocolate. Love it also for popping in on a cold day to warm up with a delicious hot chocolate. There is a good range of dairy free milks available and all chocolate is GF with some being vegan also. Super friendly staff and currently a super deal where we bought a chocolate bar of our choice for $10 and received a free hot chocolate also of our choice. Yum yum yum!!!

The Chocolate is excellent. The salted caramel and coffee flavored chocolate were the best.

The store could use more shelving and maybe some other swag for people to buy. Almost no inventory and only on one set of shelves which meant only two people could look at at the same time. There’s tons of space. Buy some shelves and spread it out!!!

They also offer ice cream. Worthy a visit

We did the Chocolatier experience, which they describe as a tour. We enjoyed making our own bars, however expected to be taken on a tour of the factory while our bars set. Unfortunately there is no tour, just a very quick talk about the bean to bar process in the room where you make your bars. We still enjoyed our time, but the description of what you are getting is not accurate. I added a review to their website with similar comments to here and they didn’t publish it.

I have been to Wellington Chocolate Factory many times but today was the first tour I've done. The tour was excellent, the host was knowledgeable and passionate. They make THE best hot chocolate in Wellington. The cost was was well worth it. The people and WCF are amazing and friendly and really care about ethically sourced and delicious chocolate.
