It was Good Friday, and first clear day after many days of bad weather. Everyone in town for the Easter jazz festival was out and about. Yet our queries were handled quickly, professionally and informatively. The layout makes it easy to browse, and it is...More

Tauranga I-SITE is one of the best. Lots of information about activities, accommodation etc in the Bay of Plenty. A convienient location right next to the bus stop.

I would recommend anybody visiting the area to visit the i site, the staff are very helpful and the prices in the shop are very competetive.

Great if you have a small car but in a motorhome no parking near the place which goes against what I'd expect if they want people to know where to spend money in their town. Staff are clueless about things to do so I'd suggest...More

Hi, we're coming to Tauranga in Jan on a cruise & ive booked the hop on/off bus to Rotorua but am now having second thoughts as to its flexibility. They haven't provided a timetable so I'm not sure how frequently it runs & the exact stops. I also had wanted to go to Wao-o-tapu but it doesn't go there - what options are there of a bus link up from the info centre? Alternatively, is car hire better for the day? Are all car pick up options a shuttle bus ride away from the port ? Thrifty was a 10 min bus ride away but you may have to wait 20 mins for the bus, then there's 30 mins of paper work + waiting time..... I'm unsure of the best option in terms of cost, flexibility & time. Thanks for your help, Sharen

Hi Sharen Thanks for your enquiry. Not sure which operator you booked for the hop on hop off to Rotorua, but yes they only visit the main city centre attractions once they get over to Rotorua. Wai-o-tapu is about 30 min... More

We shall come with the Golden Princess in December; I would like to know whether there are buses we can take to go over to Tauranga, whether they are frequent/regular and the fares we shall have to plan for.

Hi. Thanks for your enquiry. Most cruise ship days there is a shuttle which comes over to the city centre. The cost is $10 return per person. Another option is to take the local bus for $3.20. There are also local tours... More
