We did the tour of Wai-o-tapu thermal wonderland and Te Puia geyser, plus some wonderful extras including a sequoia forest and a kiwi fruit farm. Our guide was informative, entertaining, friendly and willing to answer all our questions. We felt beautifully looked after on a day that was one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip…

Geoff did a fantastic job taking us from our cruise ship to Wai-O-Tapu. He provided good commentary about the area and what we were passing, and gave us as much time at Wai-O-Tapu as we wanted. As it was just two of us, Geoff took us to a few other places before having to get back to the ship. It was a fantastic day and a highlight of our cruise. Very highly recommended!!…

We booked a custom tour with Scott Tours to visit Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland and Te Puia geyser. Our cruise ship docked around 9 a.m. and was cleared by 9:30. We managed to be on the wharf by 9:45. Our tour guide/driver Geoff was waiting for us. His van was clean and the ride was comfortable. Geoff was engaging throughout the day. The Champagne Pool was as advertised. After lunch, we went to Te Puia. We had a chance to visit a Kiwi bird sanctuary and a woodcarving workshop before the eruption. It was certainly worth the wait. On the way back, Geoff suggested we try hoki poki ice-cream and of course we agreed. He also asked if we wanted to visit a kiwi farm and we took him up on it as well. Since we had about 2 hours left before all aboard time, we asked Geoff to drop us off in town. He did and provided clear directions for us to return to the ship. All in all, it was the best day of our 10-day cruise.…

Hi, Thank you so much for taking the time to place your review. We are thrilled you enjoyed your visit to Wai-O-Tapu and Te Puia and that both destinations met your expectations. It is amazing what you can fit into a day visit to the area. Great you had time after your tour to check out the Mount Maunganui shops as these are within walking distance back to the ships berth. Kind regards, Geoff & Trixie Scott Tours
