My husband and I did the afternoon kayak glow worm cave and hot springs tour. There was only one other kayak on the tour, as well as our guide. We were at the end of our four weeks in NZ and still hadn't seen glow worms. the small cave, only accessible by water, was not a wow sight, but we... More

Having lived in the Bay of Plenty for 14 years, I've always wanted to do this tour, but for some reason just never got around to it. It took a visit from my cousin from the UK to make us finally book a glow worm kayak tour. And we weren't disappointed! The weather was perfect, the kayaks and equipment top... More

A highly recommended experience. Kayaking is easy. Tour is guided. Additional helpers are also available. We learned lots about 'glow worms' - to see them in a narrow canyon at night was awesome!

We did the kayak tour with the "glow worm" cave and the hot springs, and highly recommend it! Both the cave and the hot spring are only accessible by boat, which made them feel extra special and exclusive. Our kayak group of 7 plus the guide were the only ones at the springs, too. The scenery was gorgeous, our provided... More

The glow worms were on the trees and on walls of the lake. It was magical. The kayak was easy. Do note that you should wear something warm. And jackets preferably water proof. Because you do get water splashed on yourself. They have clothes to loan you if you don't have it. There was a longish cheese chips wines session... More

Seriously, we had a great day at the adventure park. Kayaking was lovely, we got to try stand up paddle boarding, and lots of other fun activities (the blob was awesome). I think it's great that you can participate as little or as much as you like and you still have a great day. I went with my adult partner,... More

Wonderful fun place for water babes......probably over 9y unless parents want to stay with them the entire time. The staff are just wonderfully friendly and helpful. Perhaps a bit expensive but I did get a special. Everyone has to be brave enough to jump into the freezing river....wet suits for hire. Lots of space for picnics and other play for... More

The kayaking glow worm tour is fantastic! Tom (our guide) was super friendly and definitely informative. We had a small group & although he had to tow another kayak around (due to inexperience) he was still interactive with the rest of us. The glow worms are a great sight & the whole lake experience is beautiful!

I did a trip with Waimarino in Rotorua. They sent me an email to rate them and took me to this one.. But in case anyone is interested, the tour on Lake Rotiti was nice. The glowworm cave is more of a peep in and out portion and should be explained in the advertising. Our guide was nice and knowledgeable.... More
