The Wairekei Terraces thermal pools are set in very pleasant surroundings and offer plenty of temperature options for a relaxing soak. We really enjoyed a dip on the way back from some trail riding over at Kinloch. My leg muscles especially felt much better afterwards. The hottest pool wasn't as hot as I remember from previous visits but maybe the... More

With almost nobody around we had the pools to ourselves. The different temperatures and spot on, the thermal terraces themselves are stunning and the whole setting is nothing short of exceptional. Again please!

Me and my wife had an hour+ long soak in these pools and felt that our body and mind got relaxed elevating our spirit ! We observed significantly 3 types of warm pools of varying levels of temperature. This allowed us to take a dip in each of the pools but for different duration that our body can withstand. the... Set amongst native bush are multiple natural mineral hotnpools of varying temperatures, but you will be sure to find to one that suits your needs. The water is beautiful and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft after a good long soak (they recommend that you don't shower straight away as it will wash all the good natural minerals off). There... More

Stopped here on the way to Tauranga. Prices were a little steep, but the pools were very relaxing, all different temperatures to suit everyone. I liked that children under 14 weren't allowed as it meant the pools were very peaceful. Lovely on a cool autumn day!

My two older teenage daughters and I attended at night, in the middle of winter. We did a very fast dash from (and back to) the dressing rooms to the pools outside. But once in it was fantastic. The night air was very cold, and this reacted with the warm water to create a thick fog so we couldn't see... More

These hot pools are set in a beautiful nature - you have different pools with different temperature. All set as different terraces- its a serene and peaceful place to relax in these natural hot pools. Kids under 14 are not allowed.

The first time there were only a few people there. Then second time, next morning: just the two of us (very early). We couldnt get enough, took a detour and came back a third time. This time some visitors came fully dressed into the pool. Its kind of jucky. Its a pitty that only some cultures have to adjust. By... More

Myself and my wife had been travelling for a week and were very excited when we saw the website for the Wairakei Terraces and Thermal Health Spa - Taupo New Zealand did deep tissue sports massages... So we booked both of us in for an hour each at the hefty price of $130 each, a total of $260. We can... More
