Two years ago when as a family we visited the prawn farm, we had a good days fun catching prawns...yes, we caught some prawns. This time round, the best part was doing the hatchery bit where you can put food in your hand and the prawns came for a nibble. Once inside with the rod and bait, the prawns were... More

My husband and I came here 5 years ago and had a ball so this year during our travels we decided to venture back with our kids. I really like the fact that the tour is included in the price and not an additional cost like last time we went. The kids had a blast and we caught a couple... More

Educational tour about prawns and how to catch them. You get to catch and keep whatever you catch. You can take it home or the chef can cook on site.

Hi there, Thanks for visiting and reviewing our park. Our guided tour is a fantastic way to learn about our prawns and how to catch them! Hand-feeding the prawns is great fun. We definitely recommend it for any first time visitors. It’s such a fantastic experience catching your own prawns then cooking them and eating them on site. You won’t... More

Was fun trying to catch a prawn only to discover the are tasteless! Don't bother with the restaurant $50 for a half kilo of overcooked prawns is a complete rip off! Go to the fish shop and don't waste your money here! If I could rate them separately I'd give the prawn catching a 4 and the restaurant a 2... More

Hi there, Thanks for visiting and leaving a review. Prawn fishing certainly is lots of fun, it can be very addictive! Our prawns are fresh water prawns and some people are used to eating salt water prawns. Perhaps this is why you found the prawns tasteless. It all comes down to personal preference. It’s great to hear that you experienced... More

A great day out, lots of fun and laughs, if you are lucky enough to catch a prawn or two to have for your lunch . We found this entertaining and I guess if would be great for a family outing.

I took my 6 year old to try catch some prawns. We ended up catching 4 of them in about an hour and a half. It was good fun. Definitely worth checking out.

Hours can be spent at the Huka Prawn farm. The key is to be very patient - forget what you know about fishing when it comes to catching prawns. Younger kids may tend to lose interest if they don't catch anything - however there are plenty of activities for them to do like trout fishing, mini boat rides and kids... More
