This was the first thing we did on our trip. It was the kids highlight and they wanted to climb it again and again - which was cool as my 12 year old is usually scared of heights. It was well worth the climb for...More

This is an experience well worth the time and effort to accomplish. It is Not for the faint hearted or those unfit, but well worth the effort of doing for the spectacular views!

Steep climb, very fun to do, does not take long but require some degree of dexterity. Nice view at the top too.

A steady climb - taking around 15 minutes - it’s fun to ascend using chains and the view at the top is quite impressive. Especially if Mt Taranaki is peeking out!

Great to stop and take in the vista on a beautiful day and also a wild day watching the sea hammering the outer islands and spray reaching the shore over the top of the closest island.

Unfortunately I didnt make it to the top. But the views looked amazing. The rock climb with the chains wasn't for me. But my partner has been up before and loved it.

We had a night in New Plymouth. Well worth the drive around the coast. The islands are great for photos.

Did not walk to the top as it looked a bit challenging in bad weather. Great views around the area and Paritutu Rock is very impressive
