- joandjeremyHarpenden, United Kingdom2 contributionsSomething for everyone!Eat Streat is perfect. Just perfect. The restaurants were child friendly, staff kind and happy to help. The range of cuisine is incredible: Tai, Indian, Italian,- something for all tastes! A complete success- absolutely fabulous!Visited December 2022Traveled with familyWritten December 14, 2022

The ice cream at Lady Janes Ice Cream Parlour was delicious ... it was hard to choose which flavours to get! The curries at the Indian Star Restaurant were magnificent. We also had a delicious evening meal at Urban Gusto.Visited March 2023Written March 12, 2023

There's a to kill a mocking bird themed restaurant on eat Street, which is really insensitive.Visited February 2023Traveled with friendsWritten April 14, 2023

We visited over a couple of evenings and really enjoyed the busy, friendly ambiance. Restaurants are varied to suit all tastes and budgets including Italian, Indian and Thai. Our pick was Ambrosia - the ice-cream parlour is recommended, too.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 24, 2023
- Iria RKarratha, Australia16 contributionsAtmosphere plus!!What a great atmosphere, range of food options & great value for money all in one convenient location.… definitely go here! We went one night with friends mostly to drink hah & again the following night to dine. Spoilt for choice no matter which you choose, judging by the busy bustling area.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 21, 2023

We had Italian, and my husbands pizza was awful, especially for the price tag. However, the restaurant did not charge him for it when he complained after they asked him what he thought of it. He left most of it. My meal was okay but had an awful after taste.

Very touristy but that is what I am sure the town wanted. A good variety of restaurants with some of them having bands playing. That created for our group of seven a noise problem. The first night we visited it appeared that every restaurant was packed.
We also found that prices seemed a little high for what you seemingly get. While in three nghts we never had dinner there we did do lunch one day at Papa Tazio. That was a much more sedate experience.
If you enjoy sitting outside to people watch and listen to some band cranking out tunes, this is the place for you. For our group we just found it to be a little over the top,

Eat Street is a triumph. It's a short street packed with a collection of eateries including pubs, burger bars, a steak house, fine dining - and everything in between. Looks pretty too with all the lights strung along the top. Definitely worth a stop.

Good variety of restaurants along Eat Streat. It was very handy to our hotel so we ate here several times in the week we stayed in Rotorua. Particular favourite was Leonardo's Italian - good food and service - we ate here twice over our week away. The Indian Star was also very tasty, but the service was patchy. Our House we would not return to because of disappointing food and poor service.

Eat street holds what it does promise: 250 m of different restaurants and eateries including takeaway, lots of roofed outside tables along the way. It is busy, noisy and jolly in the evenings so do expect candlelight romance.
But there is reasonably-prized food from Italian to Indian and Thai so you want go 😋

A Must go to eat & drink. Meals are tasty & flavoursome, fresh & presentation is top class. Waiters and staff are efficient, informative, pleasant & professional. I eat out a lot in Auckland where I live, and when I cone home to Rotorua to visit I’ll go to eat street....& only to Macs. Great vibe, ambience, And the setting is ideal for everyone. Highly recommended to all who want a relaxed, enjoyable eating out experience and it’s not obnoxious. Thank you Macs, you’re awesome.

There aren't a lot of eateries in this little lane (maybe 10-12?) but the ambience is amazing. With all having their large menu boards out front in the lane, it's easy to wander up and down and make a good decision for what suits. Has the combined feeling of being indoors and outdoors at the same time! Nice!
