Half way between Taupo and Rotorua, it's easy to find and well worth a visit if you are into seeing some of the crazy things the geothermal activity in the region does to the earth! Be prepared for the smell though, it can be utterly...More

That was perfect! The price is really good for what it is, you will see nearly everything you can imagine and the things are going crescendo with a cherry on the cake to end.

The Wonderland itself is pretty ok and worth its money when you walk the big track. It has nice views on the edge of the park and walks you passed several natural geysers. Lady Knox Geyser however is a bit of a joke. It’s artificially...More

Quite expansive; both mud pools and Lady Knox Geyser are a short drive (but long walk) from the park entrance and main thermal viewing area. Wide, well-marked, walking routes at the main park are well worth navigating to all areas to see the Artisan's Palette,...More

Saw some interesting geothermal things at the park. Also came early enough to see the lady Knox geyser erupt in the morning which was cool but slightly ruined by other tourists standing up in the seated area to take selfies etc, spoiling our view. There...More

This is a self-led tour with a map and awesome views of mudpools, coloured mineral water pools. We started off with the geyser show at 10am. Then went on the tour later. It smells like rotten eggs almost everywhere but is utterly beautiful.

This place is magical. Something we've never seen before. If you're in Roturua I would highly recommend going here. We went here for 2 hours with our toddler in a stroller. The biggest part you can easily do with a stroller, only if you want...More

We went to Wai-O-Tapu as one of our firsts things to visit when we arrived in New Zealand. It is a really cool place to visit with all the colours and thermal activities. There's a path that goes threw the park you follow. We took...More

There's no denying it, the place stunk. But the colours on show were amazing and we saw so many things we'd never seen before. The geyser was kind of unimpressive since they poured detergent in to make in blow, so watch it if you're there...More
