About Skyline Rotorua
Famous for a reason, Skyline Rotorua is your ticket to an unforgettable holiday. Begin your day with a tranquil Gondola ride up Mt Ngongotaha overlooking Lake Rotorua then wind your way down via the Luge or if you prefer to descend by mountain bike, weave your way through one of the newly created Gravity Park trails. Get the adrenalin pumping even more on the Zoom Zipline and the Sky Swing. Or for a more relaxed approach take a stroll through the stunning nature trails with informative and interactive panels along the way. Left feeling a little peckish? Head to the Food Market Kitchen or the Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar to fuel up again. While you’re there, why not also pop into the Volcanic Hills Wine Tasting Room and Winery while the kids explore the Jelly Belly Gallery and Store. Finish the day with an out-of-this world experience during Skyline’s Stargazing tour. It’ll have you exploring constellations and discovering planets invisible to the naked eye, at one of the top eight stargazing locations in New Zealand. The Skyline Rotorua complex is just 5 minutes’ drive from central Rotorua, sitting atop Mt Ngongotaha providing unsurpassed views of New Zealand’s coolest hot spot. This is an all-weather must do attraction suitable for all ages. Open 365 days a year from 9am to late.

We are annual pass holders for Skyline in Queenstown and believed we got the same benefits if we used the pass at the Rotorua Skyline. As it turned out we got the gondola ride as pass holders but nothing else which made the luge rides full price and really expensive. Also our cards are chipped but they still use barcodes here and none of the staff were quite sure what to do with them. The track is much longer than the QT tracks but it’s getting a bit rickety and at the bottom you had to load your own luge on which is fine for those who are able to push it on and then basically kick it to get it on the belt, but if you weren’t terribly mobile you would struggle. Had an ice cream and visited the Jelly Belly shop but not a lot else to do up there. It’s one of those things you need to do once while in Rotorua but we won’t be rushing back there…

Thank you for your thorough review. Our annual pass holders also get access at the Queenstown property but no additional discounts. You are correct, our Luge tracks are much longer! In fact we have about 2km more track then Queenstown, not that it is a competition, but if it was, I think we would win lol. We are currently in the process of upgrading our tracks too so we hope you can visit again when they are all done :) Thanks again

Great place and loads of fun, food is good, just be careful which member of staff you get, I have previously found that staff here excellent but unfortunately today we meet with someone that just didn’t want to work.

The view at the top is fantastic! The luge is so fun! Highly recommend to come to the Skyline in the early morning as it will be lots of people and long queues after 11am.

Had a really forceful lady at the bottom if the gondolas giving us the impression that if we didn't let her take a photo we wouldn't be allowed on the lift up She ruined the whole experience for us but apart from the skank the rest was awesome oh just hope you don't get a dud luge go kart as they are prone to completely stop in the flat parts and it becomes an annoyance to get them going again
