Experience the unique joy of traveling along a railway line in your own powered self-drive railway vehicle, called a RailCruiser. The RailCruiser is a fully automated, state of the art petrol-electric four seat self-drive railway vehicle, with comfortable seats and unobstructed views. It is fitted with clear drop down waterproof sides. Departing from Mamaku Railway Station travel 10km through a majestic 1000 year old native forest, past rolling pastures with views out over Lake Rotorua to Tarukenga Railway Station. After a short break at Tarukenga whilst the RailCruisers are turned, you return in your RailCruiser back to Mamaku. Cruising along at 20km/hr, you can listen to the audio tour. This is the ultimate way to experience a railway.

A nice way to take in the scenery and local farmland. You sit back and relax and be taken through it with commentary at certain intervals highlighting key points of interest/history. It was a cold day when we went so recommend layering up if you want to keep the doors/plastic

Fun ride great experience really nice staff to deal with. it was a nice afternoon even though the rain didn't hold out for us. We didn't get wet so this is an all weather ride, there are even blankets in the cruisers to use if it is cold well done to the owners for such

Very good, rainy day but that made it even better because side covers keep you warm and dry. We were late but they still accommodated us. Beautiful views, just wish the trees and plants close to the track was a bit more open so we could see the deep valleys, but view over
