If its winter dress warm a beautiful small scale insight into Maori culture this is a great light hearted yet respectful look at Maori tradition. Very efficient and well paced evening. Dennis our bus driver was a high light and made the ride home memorable.

The beginning of the night was my personal favourite. It begins with a traditional test to see you and your new tribe come in peace, this was amazing to watch. The warriors came entered in spectacular fashion, dressed in traditional clothes and painted with traditional marks while the women sing. There was one warrior (sorry but I dont remember his... You won't be disappointed if you choose to join this experience. There's a sensitivity to the whole event which showcases beautifully the Maori culture. From the bus drive in and back the adventure is just superb (our driver was called Dennis 'the menace') and was great and certainly set the tone for what continued to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening.... Wonderful history and a great personal touch. The others are fine, but this is one where you feel part of the action rather than a passive observer.

We have just finished our evening, fantastic. We were not at all rushed, in fact it was perfect times to go around the village and learn from the hosts. The whole grounds, buildings, huts are immaculate... you can tell they invest thier takings back into this very well oiled business. Yes there were line up ect but that is tourism.... More

Tamaki's experience starts the minute you board the bus for the trip. The driver gives an insight into whats to come, starts the interaction between guests and generally gets the fun started.. As elected chief for the bus, I was up close and involved with the welcoming ceremony. What a mind blowing experience this ceremony is, and just the beginning... More

My daughter (27 years old) and myself had pre booked on this tour through our travel agent in Australia. I wasn't really that interested in the event, but my daughter wanted to go, so we did. From the minute we got picked up from our hotel to the minute we got dropped back was fantastic! Such enthusiasm from all involved!... More

I had a really excellent night. The Maori hosts were fantastic, and I very much enjoyed touring their village and seeing them perform hakas and other traditional activities for us. They seemed like they actually enjoyed showing us and teaching us about their history and activities, which was great. I was worried that it was going to feel exploitative, but... More

Just visited and it was a great cultural experience. However, because there were so many people I couldn't see much. I wish there was an option to pay a little more and attend a smaller event.

Tamaki Village is always my favourite outing when we have visitors who want the whole Hangi/Culture night out. The food is always Yum and plentiful, the concert is always awesome,Beautiful voices, and the performers look like they really enjoy what they do, unlike Te Puia. The Bus Ride is always so entertaining, and love that they give discounts for locals.
