Tamaki Maori Village was a great experience to know better about Maori customs. The environment was sooo beautiful, cozy and mystical - you feel like in different world. In general, starting with a reservation team, finishing with performers - their positive energy and attitude towards the customers was clearly felt. Super nice performance, lots of laugh, clients could participate in... More

This was a wonderful night. Picked up at our hotel by the complimentary bus, a hands on tour of the village and a live performance. Finished the evening with a beautiful hangi. A family of five we all throughly enjoyed our afternoon / evening even though it was rainy heavily. We would highly recommend this to all- we had a... More

Took our group of 30 high school students from Australia here and loved it all! Stayed overnight and staff hung out with the students roasting marshmallows around fire after the hungi feast! Cultural shows and forest walk was re s ally well done. So glad we went!

It was pouring rain the night we went and I wish I had dressed warmer, but even with rotten weather IT WAS AWESOME!!!! You are under a cover for the greeting ceremony and under a canopy of trees for the village "lessons" but you still get wet. There are fires throughout the village so you can warm up if you... More

This is a must-do if you are in the Rotorua area. The Maori culture is so prominent in New Zealand that its great to learn about it in the Tamaki Maori Village. The food was fantastic, and so was learning about the ancient culture. My only suggestion for modification is to include the "chief's" guests with or as close as... More

Unfortunately we had a very wet night which made things a little less enjoyable. It was very interesting to get an insight into the Maori way of life. The dancing and singing was wonderful. The dinner was very enjoyable. We had a lovely night and our bus driver Dennis was a real character with a wonderful voice.

What a fantastic night! We visited the Tamaki Village experience for the 6pm show and dinner and it was great. With 4 children ranging from 2 - 11 years it can be difficult to find an attraction that suits everyone but this definately kept the whole family entertained. It was a great educational and cultural experience with plenty of entertainment... More

We had a fun evening and good food at this Maori village. You are picked up from your hotel in Rotorua. Our driver was Dennis who gave a great commentary on the way and led singing on the way back - about a 30 minute journey. The Maori village is not real but gives a good view of what a... More

I have been to several Maori performances now and this I rate as the best. I particularly enjoyed the Maori culture aspect before the show and dinner. It was a great learning experience for our two kids to understand some of their ways. The show was also good. My young daughter got a bit scared of the warriors. The dinner... More

Not actually a living history museum, but it was very educational and fun. Definitely worth the money. Not suitable for small children. The individual demonstrations are noisy and very close to each other, so we found it difficult to understand the instructors/demonstrators, especially since we were Americans and unused to the dialect. But we learned a great deal just by... More
