It was a pity that it rained the whole time and that we could not see the views of the lakes that we had hoped to see but the ride was fun, the horses well selected for their riders abilities and th saddles wer comfortable. I was very thankful for the waterproof wax coat that they lent me as with... More

Bought my girlfriend a voucher for her birthday for a 1.5 hour ride. She hadn't been back on a horse in years after a bad experience being bucked off one. On the morning we arrived it was bucketing with rain but it made the whole experience kind of ethereal. Lucy supplied us with rain pants and we took off up... More

We took our 9 year old daughters on this 1.5 hour trek and it was wonderful. None of us has any horse riding experience but the horses were calm and the staff were incredibly helpful, supportive and reassuring. The trek was far more than we expected - over various terrain leading to extraordinary views. Well worth it if you find... More

We decided to call up Horse Trekking at Lake Okareka on a bit of a whim and certainly did not regret it! A group of us went for the 2.5 hour ride which was amazing, trekking through all sorts of different terrain and finally winding up to the top of the hill for the best views!! In all the excitement... Had a fantastic 2.5hr ride through the most beautiful country. Horses were well cared for and our trek guide Kate was wonderful. Lucy was fantastic at allocating horses suitable to experience. Highly recommend

A very good selection of horses for all riding abilities, mostly Station breed and in good condition. Magnificent views on the trek, especially on a nice sunny day! Well worth the ride, for beginners, as well as experienced riders. Friendly staff, and a good client to staff ratio.

The beautiful views are everywhere along trekking. We had two hours horse trekking. Sometimes in the small path of mountain, sometimes up to the top of mountain. Quite challenging. Nice staff, friendly Lucy. They are all experienced. Worthy to have this tour.

Great morning riding - the horses were well cared for and the scenery was amazing across a beautiful farm overlooking the lake up on the ridge. We were also given the opportunity to canter which was fun and my younger daughter who has just started lessons loved it she got a great pony called Pongo. Will definitely be back!
