A smooth operation with a sense of humour. We enjoyed the care and professional instruction as first time rafters. What a sense of accomplishment you get as a group. We loved it so much we booked for the next day. Our teens were initially terrified and finished grinning wildly. We appreciated the links to Māori culture as not just lip service. Our guide Cam had his hands full with two hefty adults and two teens…thanks Cam you made us feel confident and comfortable. Thanks @rotorurarafting what a team! BOOK it NOW folks!

Fantastic day on the zip lines above the Kaituna thanks to Sam & the guys! This is a must do if you’re in Rotorua and only a 20 min drive from town.
My wife and I weren’t sure what we’d let ourselves in for but had a superb time zip lining above the river, with professional and fun guides.
And the opportunity to learn about local history, NZ flora and fauna & local Māori culture made it an even more memorable experience.
I can’t recommend this highly enough - even if you’re wary of heights you’ll have a great time.

My wife and I decided it would be great to gather our four kids and their partners for a rafting experience. Raise the adrenalin, create a smattering of fear with a bucket full of fun and excitement! Sadly, our original booking was set aside due to Covid lockdown. Whilst we were offered a refund, we wanted the experience. So we waited until we could get eight people to agree on a date. What an experience. Be fair to say the mood was one of utter excitement, with a sprinkle of trepidation on the day. We ended up in two very competitive groups, which made the adventure even more exciting and rewarding. In fairness, whilst the 7m waterfall on Tutea Falls was daunting for all of us, the final event was far more exhilarating than scary. There were more stories than one could poke a stick at over lunch. The team at Rotorua Rafting are amazing and the photos we received afterwards fabulous! Only one last thing to say - "just do it!"

The Kaituna river was closed during my travels due to heavy rainfall and storms, but the team emailed me in advance and offered me the Rangitaiki river instead. It was amazing. Staff were great and I loved every minute.

Amazing experience, professional staff, efficient operation and friendly, fun-seeking team. We had the best time and so many laughs. Jesper was brilliant and we will recommend to anyone we know from home visiting Rotorua. Thanks for the awesome memories!!!!

A truly great experience. 10 stars!
I'd recommend this to anybody, the team are great and super knowledgeable, and the river is so fun. Highlights were either the waterfall or the "swimming down the rapid".
Will 100% be back!

I went rafting with Rotorua Rafting a year ago and knew that wouldn’t be the last time! I had no experience with rafting at all but the guides there make you feel safe at all times. It was so much fun that I decided to come back this year. Even though it was raining my friend and I had a great time on the river.

This was so fun! I would recommend this to everyone it was so well thought out and the team leader on our raft was exceptional! It had the danger factor, the fun factor and the beautiful scenery, which made it the perfect morning adventure. I would recommend this for everyone to try, I am afraid of water, and was terrified of going under or being thrown out of the boat, at no time did I feel Unsafe, all the staff were friendly kind and helpful. Overall we had so much fun and enjoyed our river rafting experience immensely.

Ah it was simply brilliant. Great team of young men with a huge repertoire of experience and expertise between them, and an equal amount of good humour. Had the dunking we were all craving, a bit of relaxing in the river followed by another adrenalin rush and another soaking. Had an amazing time. Thank you

I can't swim and was worried about what happens if our boat turn upside down. Can from Rotorua rafting is amazing !! He gave us confidence and gave us quick training just in case if we go down the river. After that, it was all fun. Highly recommended activity, if you are in the Rotorua and high, recommend Rotorua Rafting team

Is it possible to self-drive from Rotorua? And do you provide wetsuits or do people just wear swim clothes? Extra charges for gear? Thanks!

Hi there, most definitely you can self drive out to our base, its 15/20 minutes from Central Rotorua and we have lots of car-parking! We provide everything, wetsuits, boots for your feet and a neoprene jacket, as well as all the safety gear, you just need to bring a swimsuit and towel :). No extra charges for gear - we provide :)

We don't have an age limit it is really dependent on your mother. But we do take a bunch of clients from as old as 86yrs down.

Mōrena, the Kaituna is always similar and is artificially controlled so the water levels are always good. In January we expect to see 25 Celcius, water temps. Hope to see you on the river with us in the new year.

Hi,, is it possible to have a guided hike,without the helicopter ride. I'm interested in the glacier not the flight.
