Treewalk - is it good value for money?

We have been to the Redwoods forest a few times when we came to Rotorua. We knew a new treewalk is available so we give it a go. It is a suspendable bridge between one tree and the other, about 8-10m above the ground. There are about 23 bridges that connecting togther. You go anti clockwise and will take about... More

Fantastic fun! Family of 5 including a boisterous 3.5 year old - it was really safe despite the bridges wobbling a bit and being so far off the ground. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we were thoroughly impressed with how well built and maintained the whole structure was! Very highly recommended for anyone visiting the area. The... Always great!! Plenty of variety, and this weekend plenty of mud. Rotorua's greatest asset in my view.

I had wanted to see the Giant Redwoods before travelling back to NZ. I wanted to walk amongst these giants and to be honest I was in awe of their presence. The trees were planted around 1900 to test their sustainability and are similar to those in the USA except these grow much faster. I wasn't aware you can actually... More

The kids and 1 had a great time on the walk. You are between 6-12m high, but you feel perfectly safe. The bridges move a little as you cross them, but not enough to worry most people. There were informative signs along the way and we all learnt quite a bit about the forest. It only took about 30mins

We did the shortest red trail and that was good, especially as it was free. The cross sections of the trees in the Visitor Center were cool too.

Went with my 7 year old .. brilliant riding .. Kids loop and dipper are fantastic, it was pm school hols, a fair flow of people but not jammed. I'm an absolute newbie to Rotarua so went to the Redwoods marked on the map. WRONG .. That's the walking trails bit. Go to Waipa State Mill Road side of the... More

Drive up further to see the Blue and Green Lakes and enjoy the scenery further up in the mountains. Lots of hiking and biking opportunities in this park.

Not quite sure if the treewalk was worth the money, but still a lot of fun. I wish there had been more information signs provided, so it could be more educational.

We spent an afternoon here and it was great - plenty lovely walks, all signposted and for different lengths / abilities. We did the tree top walk, walked through the woods and just in general had a great time.
