We had reserved a guided kayaking tour. However unfortunately it didn't have minimum number of guests, we changed to a rafting of grade two, since it was our first rafting. In fact we regretted that we couldn't do kayaking, but finally the rafting became one...More

Just finished a great family trip with Justin of River Rats, a very knowledgable and passionate guide. With three children ages between 6 & 8, Justin ensured they were well entertained along with the adults. A beautiful river valley enjoyed from in and out of...More

We booked at short notice while on a one day cruise ship stopover. Team there were friendly and helpful and helped us get organised and booked on a tour that would still get us back to our ship on time, dropping us back in Rotorua...More

Great guides, Yasper rocks. Kids under 13 can still do it - about 70% of it. They don't even have to paddle! The 7m waterfall was awesome.

Our River Rats adventure was thrilling! Our guide, Mike, was the best!! He was so skilled and encouraging of those of us who were scared (aka myself), and we even ran into him in a kayak a week later while swimming by ourselves at the...More

A nice relaxing kayak trip through the Ohau Channel on our own. We had ducks and swans for company along the way, and peeked at waterfront houses which lined the Channel. We were initially not sure if we could manage without a guide and whether...More

Keep in mind- you can not bring your go pro. They do not allow cameras or go pros on this trip. They do have pictures they take for sale. I have been rafting a few times before, this trip unfortunately was my least favorite. The...More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry the trip was not what you expected. The positioning in the raft on the Kaituna is largely a safety decision. We need to try and make sure that weight and paddle power are as evenly distributed as...More

The rafting the rapids portion was actually short, but still exciting. The tour guides helped make it worth the money by doing bonus activities like surfing a rapid and trying different poses while going down them. They also take great pictures. I wish our tour...More

Signed up for the afternoon Kaituna River Rafting. The meeting point is at the Rotorua airport in an old-renovated hanger. Plenty of parking around the place and I believe they do free pickups from Rotorua hotels. The facility didn't seem like they had showers for...More

Thank you for your review. As the water is warm and fresh water most customers don't want a shower afterwards. However we do have one shower available at our base if customers wish to use it. We are certainly happy to accommodate people if they...More
