You need to put aside 4 hours for a return trip if you want to relax and absorb the beauty of the bush and the falls. It is not a loop but you get a different view on the return. It is an easy track through bush and mangroves to the falls which are a hose shoe shape like a... More

I stopped off in the middle of a storm .... wow the falls were buzzing massive amounts of water flowing over the falls..then I looked to the right and saw 3 or 4 flame trees with 20 tui's or more bustling over there territory, the rain didn't put them off.

I love this waterfall. It's quite a broad crescent where the Waitangi River tumbles over the rocks to the river below in a great sweeping curtain of water. It's especially powerful when in a flood. You can get to the top of the waterfall where there is a small carpark and some rock pools. If you like tramping there's a... More

A pleasant little falls that is very close to the road and a 2 minute walk from the parking lot. For that reason it is worth the visit. I wouldn't have travelled a long ways to see this attraction otherwise

I planned a day to go to the cape, but on my way back I had time to spare, so I had a look on the Internet to find other places to visit. The falls was really nice, you could get up close to it, and is a nice quick pit stop to take if you are in the area.

So may waterfalls involve a lot of hiking. Haruru falls is just off the road. Go into the ca park and you can see it. It is not a huge fall, but very pretty. There is a hotel that faces the falls, so if you like the sound of crashing water as you try to sleep, that would be the... More

We took a ride out to the falls. It had been raining a lot so they were really moving!! For some reason, still not sure, there were chickens in the parking lot! Just wandering around, so watch you don't run over them. Well worth a look. You would need a car.

It was worth a look and see. Easy to find, good parking and easy to access. Not worth going too far out of the way to see but if you are in the area, stop by.
