You can take part in many activities, catch the ferry boat across to Russell, swim, walk or just sit and enjoy

we went to Paihai beach and harbor and sat on their wooden benches and let the morning drift by. Grand Daughter swam and played in the sand and we basked in the sun.We watched a kite surfer and Kayakers and the ferry to Russell heading...More

Everything within walking distance. We parked and watched the waves and walkers. The ferry to Russell island was great. The closest we've seen dolphins cavorting.

Paihia harbour is the main launching point into the Bay of Islands. Gorgeous views, plenty of activities. It's a tourist destination, so be ready for some crowds, sometimes by the bus load. It's centrally located on the Paihia waterfront, minutes from plenty of great dining...More

i rented a kayak from a rental shack near to the southern entrance of the village, good prices, good service. Don't go too far into rough water though! They also rent bikes.

Lovely clean, picturesque harbour. Lots of tour opportunities or just take the ferry to Russell and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the area

Went on a fine spring morning. Water as smooth as glass, sun shining, just magic! Took hundreds of photos but none of them do the harbour justice. Spent a couple of hours having coffees within view and could have stayed the whole day. Just gorgeous.
