Went to the treaty Grounds and we bought a two-day pass ticket @ $40 each. Money well spent. On the first day we went to the cultural show with a talk from a Maori lady about the meeting place. Also a walk around the Treaty House where the document was signed. Lots of information about the event delivered in a... More

Every Maori exhibit tells you more details than another. Dancing is dramatic as the warriors wanted to scare their enemy with their loud voices and mean faces. It worked. Waitangi is the historic hotbed imbued in Maori myth & legends. Imagine the various mostly peaceful tribes coming into contact with the convicts that jumped the British ships and started what... Friendly staff were happy to answer questions, even tricky ones. Well labelled exhibits, including the outdoor fauna. The new museum area looks like it will be open soon, which will make this even better.

If you are visiting the Bay of Islands area do not miss this significant site close to the township of Paihai. We chose to purchase an all-inclusive Day Pass which includes a guided tour as well as a cultural performance at a cost of A$40.00 each. Also included is entry to a new museum recently opened in February this year.... More

The Waitangi Treaty Grounds and museum is very interesting and informative it tells of the history between the Mauri Nation and the British Crown and signing of the Waitangi Agreement. But much more than that. I think that it's a part of history that we the general public in Britain know very little about.

Absolutely beautiful, my advice is to do the guided tour and ensure you take in the cultural show, in fact do everything on offer. Loved the experience.
