We booked a wine and crafts tour with Annette and Alan and they took time to give us some options for stops and personalised the tour to our group. Even during the tour Alan was able to adjust schedules if we wanted a little additional time at one place or other. We enjoyed Alan's company so much he and Annette... More

Did the Wine and Crafts tour with Shona. She still went ahead even though it was only the two of us (she let me know that morning that there wasn't a group). Had an excellent time- despite it being winter Shona organised 7 stops. The tour was the perfect length of time. Wine, cheese and chocolate- what more could you... More

We spent a wonderful afternoon with Shona taking us to a cheese store, chocolate factory and three wineries. The chocolate factory had a lovely cafe with delicious cakes and gelato. The tour was at a great pace, varied but not rushed, and all of our group of 6 found it to be an enjoyable, relaxing experience. The wine tasting was... More

We arranged a private excursion for 10 to see the area. Shona was very easy to deal with via email. Tracy was our guide for the day and gave us a lot of good information and much of the local flavor. We did an interesting walk along the bay, three winery stops. (Two would have been better, but the third... More

It was a nice little wine tour. Friendly host, informative. Only go to two wineries along with a chocolate factory and honey hive factory but for the price it was great! I would recommend it if you didn't want an all day exhausting wine tour!

Just home from a Celebrity 2 week NZ/Australia cruise. Shona at Total Tours and I exchanged many emails establishing our agenda. She arranged a group pick up at the pier. Our driver/guide, Stacey was terrific. He kept us on schedule. There was a great deal of driving and required commentary; it was obvious he has experience. The first stop,Pahia Village... More

I spent a day with Tracy touring the Bay of Islands area. He is knowledgeable and personable and I recommend. I am not convinced that there is really much to see or do in Bay of Islands, but we managed to stay out for most of the day. Visited a couple of wineries: one very good one, very poor. Visited... We signed up for the afternoon food, wine and crafts tour which included a trip to a local wood factory, cheese factory, chocolate factory, 2 wineries and a local historical area. Shona our guide was very knowledgable and helpful. We didn't feel rushed to leave places or expected to buy things. Would definitely recommend

My wife and I signed up for the Wine, Food, and Craft tour with Total Tours, which consisted of visits to a local Kauri wood carving shop, cheese factory, chocolate factory, stone museum, a vineyard, a winery, and Haruru Falls. Without this tour, I sincerely doubt we would have visited any of these places in the Bay of Islands, and... More

Shona was brilliant so knowlegeable and amusing; there were only the two of us booked for the day we wished to visit but rather than cancel the exursion she took just the two of us. We visited a producer of gifts manufactured in native timber, a Honey Shop, a Chocolate manufacturer (beautiful products) and two wineries which was brilliant. We... More
