We are based right onsite to these World Class Mountain Biking Trails, with a full bike hire service, shuttles uplift service, electric bikes and even a cafe! The Waitangi Mountain Bike Park is one of the best in New Zealand with almost 50km of professionally built trails catering from complete beginners to advanced riders, so something for everyone of all ages! Excellent tracks, equipment and support in terms of knowledge of bike setup and a mechanical shop to back you up.
Jonny is very friendly likeable chap who loves good conversation.
Bikes were up to date and well kept , we hired the ebikes which are awesome! Toilets and cafe there too which were a welcome site after a few hours pounding the (beginner) tracks 😜
Would recommend.

I do a lot of mountain biking and these trails are some of the best I've ridden. Not a lot of steep descents or challenging features but lots of fun, easy riding. The guys at the bike shop were great and set me up on a good, high-end full suspension bike. Give it a try.

Bikes were high quality and excellently maintained. I think the biggest highlight was meeting Johnny and seeing how passionate he is about sharing the stoke with other riders and making sure they have the best time. What a blast!

You're right, I do like sharing the stoke and getting riders out there checking out the tracks, we love making peoples day and putting a smile on the dial. I get a little bit jealous each time a rental bike goes out and wish I was out there riding too. I guess I can have my turn after work ;) . See you next time.

We hired bikes and hit the trails for half a day. The staff were fantastic. Really friendly and helpful. The tracks are great. Greens are nice and flowy. Great for 13 YO daughter. Blues provide some thrills, especially in the wet. Wish we had more time to have another day there. Kids are already planning another trip to NZ just for Waitangi.

We were visiting Paihia for the long weekend and didn't have any bikes with us. We came to this bike park to have a look at the scenery and take photos when my youngest son saw the awesome bike track out the front and wanted to have a turn. We went to the bike hireage area was first impressed with the safety and friendliness of the staff. They got my details first as the parent meanwhile, helped fit my son with a helmet and the bike that was right for his size. We were told more information about the bike park and given a map with suggestions of age appropriate tracks for him. We went to visit those and afterwards he was more confident to try the bike track out front with the hills and turns and tunnel. He really enjoyed his time at the bike park. The coffee and food was great too and we spent most of our morning here even though we hadn't planned on it, very welcoming and family friendly.

Did my homework and researched the MTB park. Booking an E-bike was easy as. Arrived at the park and my bike was ready and waiting for me. After signing in, I was sent on a test ride to see if the bike was all OK, then a comprehensive brief on which trails to take. First time on an E-bike on MTB trails so it was an experience to remember. The bike certainly takes the climbing away and I was able to do multiple runs from top to bottom, stop for lunch and hit the trails again. The trails are well built, maintained and flowing in nature. Thanks to the friendly staff, Jonno and Georgie for their help. Very professional and friendly team. Good coffee e too. A great day out, highly recommended.

Paihia MTB rentals and the Waitangi MTB trails is now on my must do list each time i am in the area. The rental bikes are always fresh and in top conditions and the trails are great. Something for absolutely every level of rider. If you enjoy MTB riding this should be on your must do list.

I have to say it was an enjoyable experience dropping into the Paihia bike park and dealing with the two friendly assistants there. Though the bike hire place was pumping, the gentleman who dealt with me, took time to greet me, gave me an estimate as to when he would be able to serve me and invited me to grab a coffee from the cafe onsite, and then come and find me. He made sure my nephew was well looked after, found the appropriate bike and then guided us with a map around the bike park. We will definitely be back! It doesn't take much effort to be respectful and service-oriented. This guys were brilliant at it!

Weather cut up rough so fishing trip got canned - what to do on a wet Sunday in Paihia? Jonny at Paihia MTB Rentals sorted us out with awesome Scott bikes and we hit the Waitangi MTB Park and had a blast. An awesome range of trails (we only managed a fraction of them in 3 hours) that are really well maintained. Not sure our hotel will be that excited about the mud we dragged in but we can definitely recommend the Paihia bike hire and the Waitangi MTB Park!!

Been here a couple of times now both with my own bike and hiring Paihia MTB rentals e bikes. There Merida e bikes are great and can turn an average ride into seriously good ride.
There is something here for everyone whether it be a steady family ride with the kids or some seriously challenging advanced tracks. If your legs and bike are up for it make sure you get across to zone 5 and check out tracks there. It has a nice long easy track as well as 4x challenging advanced downhill tracks and an intermediate downhill all exiting on a nice steady return track to the top. Thanks guys an awesome ride and i will be back.
