The Carino is a medium sized catamaran, which provides a comfortable day out with the dolphins. We boarded at Russell, and were lucky enough to have perfect weather for our trip. The Carino takes up to about 30 passengers, maximum, but on our trip there were only about 15, which made the experience very uncrowded and relaxing. Her skipper is... More

Great sailing day tour - friendly staff and wonderful views. We stopped off on a small island for a bit; they chose an island with not many tourists around, which is nice. It's a fairly small group too, which is a big plus! The day we had originally booked was forecast for bad weather but the day before was meant... More

There are a few dolphin cruises going around the Bay and I am so glad we picked this one. There was only 11 people on the boat (excluding crew) on the day we went out. While we weren't able to swim with the dolphins because the group we found had a baby it was totally amazing! Because the catamaran sits... More

This wasn't my first trip to Paihia, so I've been out on the bay before. Some of the other providers are a bit like a water borne coach tour. Carino with a much smaller group is more like being taken out by friends on their boat. Very much helped by the friendly hospitality offered up by Captain Vanessa and her... More

I am so glad we booked this trip! Well maintained family run boat, there were only 6 guests on our trip! The other tours we saw had lots of people on their boats, all clambering for photos of the dolphins and space. We were unable to swim with dolphins (due to the presence of infant/young dolphins in the group), but... More

An excellent day out on the catamaran, saw dolphins in the morning but unfortunately they weren't sociable enough for us to swim with them. Vanessa is a fantastic skipper with a great crew (including her lovely Dad!). Very friendly and informative. The boat was super clean and comfortable and the limited number of guests on board was appealing to us.... More

What a beautiful experience! Everyone visiting Paihia or Russell should go on a boat trip through the Bay of Islands, but if you go with Carino Sailing you're guaranteed to have an unforgettable day out at sea. The boat is not very big, so you'll be with a small group of people, but it's really comfy and stable (I'm often... More

second year in a row and again a great trip with fantastic service from Vanessa and her staff. You don't always get to swim or see the dolphins but is still a very relaxing tour. it's worth it just for the scenery, snorkeling and lunch :) It an amazing photo opportunity and experience if you do get to see/ swim... Hi Alison P Thank you for your great review. Fantastic this was your second tour and want to come again. Relaxing around the bay is what we are all about. Bay of Islands scenery, no matter what the weather, is always a great photo opportunity. (hopefully you are better than me at wildlife photos) Cheers More

This was such a great day for us, and really fulfilled something that I have been wanting to do for a long time which is swimming with dolphins. To start with, the crew members were very friendly and informative. When they weren't doing the safety and dolphin info talks, they would chat to the various people on the trip which... More
