The one hour loop walk is wonderful, very educational and interesting for young children with a few information boards that explains the environmental/ scientific facts. We came at low tide, pass through a bridge and boardwalks across the estuary. It would be even more beautiful...More

Great way to lose a few hours, with a young family. They loved looking at all the different fish, and birds. Easy walk for the whole family. Watch out for the cyclists, as the area/walkways are shared.

We stayed on he Westshore so it was easy to walk to Ahuriri to the shops and restaurants. There is not much shade in places so you are a sun hat.

This is a wonderful treasure to be explored by foot all within the Napier City bounds. The area has become a national treasure featuring most importantly the early Maori history of the area. The estuary is also a grand opportunity to observe bird life and...More
