This building is a fine example of Art Deco architecture. Pretty pastel colours. It's a landmark among Napier's art deco treasures.

The tobacco associations may be less welcome these days but back in the day the owner showed great determination to insist on the multi-style approach built into the design of this building

IT was not opened so we could just have a look outside. It looks lovely and special in New Zealand. It is one of the Art deco to make napier so unique.
However, you needn't spend too much time for this building.

Another iconic building in the city. Probably not as photogenic as some of the others. Doors have been removed for renovation

This place is full of character inside and out. The breads and dips are just amazing and the wines are top notch. Great service too.

We got up close to the outside and can't wait for refurbishment to finish for this awesome piece of history being restored. A must see.

Although it was closed when we visited it was worth the effort to see the outside. Influences of Art Nouveau mix with the more familiar Art Deco, and the doors alone make the visit worthwhile.

Lovely building, hope it will be re-opened soon to see the inside of it, too. The flags on the top do not match the art deco...
