Walk through lush native bush, explore barracks from the 1800's and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical significance of beautiful Takaparawhau - Bastion Point with your Ngati Whatua Orakei guide. "HEAVEN TO EARTH" Hikoi begins at the dormant volcano Maungawhau (Mt Eden), the site of a majestic pa (Maori strategic stronghold). You will walk past iconic Auckland landmarks, stopping along the way at places of historical significance to Ngati Whatua. Your guide brings Auckland’s unique landscape alive through storytelling, song and customs.

Jamie, our guide was extremely informative, passionate and knowledgeable. We were told about the history and culture of the Maori, some of their hardships, their struggles, and how they are preparing for the future. This tour is highly recommended.

We participated in the Heaven and Earth Tour atop Maungawhau (Mt Eden). Jaime was our guide, and gave us a history of his Maori people in Auckland and their relationship to their lands.
