Coming from the CBD, we hoped to walk to the harbour bridge, but didn’t have quite enough time.
We did however walk the Westhaven Promenade, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. There were good sculptures and interesting seating. We watched a sailing lesson for children and radio controlled model boats out in the marina.
It was a shame that you walk through an industrial area and the back of boat yards to join to the Wynyard Quarter, although the area does seem to be under development. Better signage linking the areas would be a bonus!

Great walk along the harbour to the fish market, bars and restaurants. Can easily walk right up to Queens street and city centre. Great view of the harbour bridge and the harbour itself, which is full of beautiful sailboats and yachts.

Westhaven is a lovely place to go for a wander on a nice day. Down by the water with the masts of yachts as a backdrop to the city or the Harbour Bridge, it is a peaceful place. There are some cafes/restaurants at the beginning and the end of it.

You can continue walking from the Wynyard Quarter, around the foreshore and then right around the Westhaven Marina. A lovely walk on a sunny day. There is a cute bronze teddy bear statue by the yacht clubs.

Enjoyed the walkway along the waterfront in the city centre. Places for you to sit and enjoy the views. Plenty of cafes along the way. Nice and relaxing.

A stroll around the yachts and over the broadwalk, with views of the Harbour Bridge, Sky Tower, cityscape. Stop in the cafe for a drink and eat, a relaxing and picturesque location.

If you like boats then this walk is a must. At the far end is the Westhaven Marina where you can ooh and ahh over all sorts of yachts and boats. On a sunny day this is really pleasant. An easy and flat boardwalk. Great for strollers, bikes and wheelchairs.

Combine a visit to Wynyard Quarter with a walk along Westhaven promenade, and realize why Auckland is one of the premier yachting nations in the world. A great combinatrion and awesome to do on a sunny day.
