June was well informed, knowledgable and extremely easy to relate too. We really enjoyed the walk around K Road and Ponsonby and the street art was surprising in its quality and variety. She showed us many useful tips and taught us the basics and then continued to increase our understanding as we wandered through the back alleyways and the park. Lots of fun, learnt some new skills, highly recommended to all.

It has been a while since I have spent time with my camera and I had forgotten a few things about shooting in Manual mode on my camera, going on the DJB Photowalk has definitely helped me out, an easy and fun introduction to the manual function on a DSLR and helpful tips along the way. We had a great introduction where Lea Schlatter our photography-walk-guide explained the main functions of the camera with some wonderful analogies that helped us understand how they did what they did. The walk was 2 hours and we moved from places with a lot of light, to sheltered, shady, and low light. Because of the time frame 5:30-7:30 we had to deal with the changing of light and Lea told us a few things to do with the settings when dealing with high or low light. Lea made sure to give everyone help where and when needed and she did so in a very clear and concise manner. Lea was very approachable and helpful which made a seemingly daunting task fun. I am pretty sure I will be doing this again, not only did I learn a lot about my camera but it was so fun and relaxing!

We had the best night yesterday with our very knowledgeable guide Jordan. To our surprise we were the only one on the tour yesterday and we had 2 hours of private photo teaching. So cool! Jordan knew everything and he gave us a lot of tips and tricks we can use on the rest of our holiday around New Zealand. I'm so glad we did this course in the beginning of our trip:)

I have self taught myself much about my DSLR. This was a great chance to practice what I had learned under guided instruction. It gave me a chance to develop my understanding of one aspect, night photography, for which I had little practice.

Sunday afternoon arrived at the meeting spot to be greeted by Lea our Photography Walk Guide. Lea was fantastic! Within 5 minutes she had already shown us an easy tip using manual on our camera resulting in great shots instantly. Lea delivery was simple, to the point and understandable and she was very patient making sure we all clearly understood how to use our camera to get amazing images. The walk was relaxing and allowed freedom to explore. I guarantee we all left feeling very confident with our cameras compared to when we arrived. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to improve their photography to spend 2 hours strolling the sheets for your next great shot with these guys.

Had a great night learning with Jordan wandering the streets of Auckland, positioning ourselves on top of car parks and side streets to capture the night sky of the city. He was great and very patient and showed our small group some great techniques - one of the best take aways for manual photography - take the photo on the settings its on now and then work from there...great tip... loved it and coming back for more!

Hi Daria,
Jordan says your group were all LEGENDS during the walk. We're happy to know you guys picked up new things during the 2 hour course and we hope that you keep using your camera on manual mode (makes photos waaaaaaaaay better than auto!).
Cheers, Daniel
