I can spend a whole morning in The Savage Garden. It has wonderful views of the sea and the islands and so many flowers around you. You can sit by the grass or the benches around the landmark.

Well maintained and a lovely peaceful place to spend the afternoon. Great views over Auckland - best place to take visitors. Take a picnic as no kiosk.

Its nearly winter so we were not able to see too many flowers in bloom and the best time is likely spring, but the gardens are still very pretty and vast. Its a great picnic spot and a beautiful spot to see Auckland city from. Lovely place also to take a lot of photographs.

Bastion Point is a great place to view the harbour from or to have a picnic. There is also a walking path which goes down to Mission Bay where there is a good selection of cafes.

Not really a big place, but has a great view! Great view! A great place for the kids to run around and burn their energy. Not accessible to public transport though. Grab some fish and chips, muffin and coffee or any bite and just enjoy the view. You can even just stay inside your car-- open the windows and relax... More

We went to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park as part of a full day tour and this stop did not disappoint in the oooohh awwwwe category. The views were fabulous and the flowers/vegetation was just what we needed leaving the dull USA winter behind to enjoy summer in NZ. It was beyond beautiful as part of our first day touring... More

This is a great place to visit, really nice gardens, a memorial of historical interest, also a fabulous outlook over to the harbour and volcanos, not far from the city and you get up and close to great beaches, there re also some turrets nearby created to protect the city from boats coming in. It's a great walk on a... More
