About
SkyJump; NZ's Highest Jump - 192m 630ft. Jump start your Kiwi Adventure by leaping from Auckland's SkyTower. It takes about 11 seconds to reach the ground falling at about 85 kph. The ground rush is unbeatable. Participants wear a full body harness and flying suit (all provided). Unlike Bungy, there is not dangling upside down or bounding around - you simply fall 'fast and smooth' and then slow down to land just in the last few metres. SkyWalk; Life on the Edge! Inch along a narrow walkway around the Sky Tower, high above Auckland. No handrail, nothing but thin air and the city 192 metres below, SkyWalk is an exhilarating challenge you'll never forget. Our guides point out attractions, tell you stories and challenge you to daredevil tricks. For a big New Zealand adventure, 360° panoramic views of Auckland and extraordinary memories, SkyWalk the ledge.

When we did the SkyWalk, it was only our family of five in the group and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and lots of fun and excitement was had by all. From the moment we checked-in, changed, went through the safety briefing and did the actual SkyWalk itself, everything was handled efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, our guide Felix was extremely professional, informative and entertaining. The challenges that we performed, such as leaning forward and backwards over the edge of the walk-way, as well as walking backwards and walking with our eyes closed, all with our arms outstretched, enhanced the overall enjoyable exhilarating experience. We would definitely recommend doing the SkyWalk.

Thanks for leaving such an awesome review for us. We're stoked that you and your family had a great time - and congrats on trying out all of the challenges! Hope to see you again for a SkyJump! Cheers!

I went with wife on 6 January 2020. Auckland Sky Tower is the tallest structure in New Zealand. SkyJump and Skywalk are based on the in the Auckland Skytower. From our hotel tour manager of Thomas Cook took us to the Sky Tower by bus.
We enjoyed the magnificent view of Auckland city from the SkyTower (630 feet, 192 meters).
I was motivated to jump and make a record. I have no doubt that SkyJump is also supremely safe and comfortable. I witnessed that there was no hanging upside down, and all landed gently on the feet on the landing platform below. I was scared to sky jump (my age 72 years).
I took photos and video.

We hope you're enjoying your visit to Auckland! The Skyjump is completely safe and suitable for all ages; we can even slow down the landing for you to make it as smooth as possible. We would LOVE to have you come back and jump!

Highly recommend this activity. Done this today with Chris who was our guide. He really made the adventure more special we felt completely safe. It is much more than just a walk around the building. Chris pointed out landmarks and gave us some history of the area whilst we undertook this activity. Thank you to Chris.

We took the skywalk and it was OK, but a bit more sedate than we expected. Guides were very cautious, which is a good thing when so high above the ground, but the tour did not have the excitement factor we expected. We went on the bridge bungy jump also, which we would recommend over the skywalk if one is undecided on which to do.

Hi there, it's great that you felt safe and enjoyed the views of the Skywalk. Our wide range of activities cater to all different comfort levels when it comes to gravity related thrills, even though the Skywalk wasn't your speed it's good that you found a rush at the Auckland Bridge Bungy! Thanks for the review. Cheers!

We did the SkyWalk and I would thoroughly recommend it, if you are not terrified of heights. The safety briefing and explanation of what the SkyWalk involved was great.
Some people in our tour of six were hesitant at the start, but most had more or less conquered their fears by the end. Keanu, our guide, was very professional, informative and encouraging. He did not force anyone in the tour do participate in any of his challenges (e.g. walk with your eyes closed, lean out backwards and lean forwards over the walkway edge).
if you want to see Auckland from a different perspective and challenge yourself, go for this. Get out of your comfort zone!

Go ahead and either skip this entirely, or make sure you book more than 1 jump, because it’s literally 11 seconds for 2.5 hours of waiting in the lobby. It’s very secure and if anyone thinks it’s scary it’s not because you have no time when you’re up there to really have any fear. Now, the biggest part for me. You Never Actually Freefall. You’re basically a human gondola. It takes so long to get down because you’re just floating. If you want a real headrush, try the Kawarau Bungy, it’s cheaper, quicker, and more risky, in a good way.

My wife surprised me with a SkyJump for my 50th birthday.
I had about 2 hours warning before my jump, which gave me time to use the complementary ticket to the 51st floor and psych myself up.
The crew were very easy going and fun and although they checked and double checked all the safety things, it all moved very quickly and there really wasn't much time to stress.
I'd be lying to say there wasn't some nervousness standing on the edge waiting to jump and it feels kind of funny when they tension the wire pre-jump. The view is amazing, yet I can't say I was really taking it all in. Once I'd let go of the poles, my jump went like a blur and I had to re-watch the video to take it all in.
My wife was able to wait for me at the splatter pad where they show live footage of the jumpers getting prep'd. The orange jump suits also make it easy to see the jumpers when they take the leap of faith.
It was an amazing thing to do, and I'd do it again without hesitation.

My husband and I did both SkyWalk and SkyJump. We enjoyed every moment of our experience. All the staff members were super nice and supportive. I am very scared of heights; however, I really enjoyed both experiences. During the walk, you do a couple of different ‘challenges’ such as leaning forward and backward over the edge of the walkway, as well as walking backward and walking with our eyes closed, all with our arms outstretched which are very fun and definitely got me out of my comfort zone. During the walk, you also get to enjoy beautiful views of Auckland and our guide pointed out landmarks and gave us some history of the area which was great. The jump was totally insane (in a good way). In the video, you can see my petrified face for the first 3 sec, and then I managed to compose myself and enjoy it. My husband had this video on repeat for days. Hahaha… The jump is controlled and you can feel the rope/harness pulling your weight so it makes it less scary. Overall, I would recommend doing both SkyWalk and SkyJump. You will not regret it.

My daughter (16) did the jump and wow, what an adrenaline rush!
Staff are super friendly, very careful to double and triple check everything while putting customer at ease. The photography and video is amazing. Spectators get a special big screen and a seat right next to the landing pad. This was a great experience!

A must do if visiting Auckland City. Did this together for my sister's 50th birthday. Now when people ask her what she did for her 50th, she can say she jumped off the sky tower. Would've been a thrill if you stopped midway down and left you hanging for a while then let you down to the bottom would be a great idea. Videos, photos and t-shirt also available as a memory to take with you.

Is there any weight limits? To walk and jump ?
taylorsatte
Ashland, OH258 contributions
For the SkyJump the weight limit is between 30kg and 122 kg (66lb-268lb). For the Skywalk the weight limit is between 30kg and 127kg (66lb-280lb). The minimum for the SkyWalk increases to 45kg (101lb) for days with strong winds. When you get to the check in area they will weigh everyone on their own scales.

The SkyJump is offered year-round. You reserve a jump time for yourself, you will have a staff person who gets you up to the jump area and meets you down below, and the guys at the jump area will take care of getting you ready to jump. I do not know if there might be others going up to the jump area at the same time because you are one. We were two and we were the only two at our jump time. It was a fun thing to do. I hope this information helps you! Enjoy!

Like Avrill said, I'm pretty sure they can do that from the restaurant. They can also watch you live from the Skywalk Reception. Finally, at the end of it, you can buy your own pictures and the record of it (taken by a GoPro) as well. Hope this helps :)

If I do the jump and she watches from below: how long will she be standing down there?
KurtAndWendy
Portland, ME991 contributions
We guess it might be about 30 minutes. She can be with you when you check in at "Mission Control", get weighed/suited up and receive general instructions. Once you get on the elevator with your crew member, she can go up to street level to watch your jump. Then, you meet up again at Mission Control where they'll show you the Go-Pro movie of your jump. Encourage her to do the jump with you. It was a great experience for us to share. I have an "issue" with heights and it was a bit scary taking that step off but it was worth it. Part of the SkyJump package includes admission to the SkyTower, which has great views and a nice cafe. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful time in Auckland!

My boyfriend and I are booked for the SkyWalk tour in a few weeks. Are we allowed to bring a GoPro? I have a strap which fastens around my wrist to keep it from falling. We love photography and hope that we can bring it along!

Hello! I've been wanting to do the sky jump, however I've had 3 pneumothoraces before. My doctor only advised me against diving and sky diving due to the huge and rapid changes in air pressure at a high speed. He told me bungee jumps are ok as its not high, thus no great change in air pressure.
However I've been wondering if there's any great change in air pressure from the 192m sky jump down to the ground..
Need some advice if anyone knows bout it~
Thank you:)

Hi there, my son did the jump and there is not likely to be any risk associated with the jump. In addition, you are slowed down by cables attached to the sides so the speed is not too intense. You only 'freefall' for around 2-4 seconds and are then 'sllightly' arrested with your fall. Hope that helps.
