This is just a lovely building, located on the busy Queen street.
It's architecture seems as if it is taken out of context, when you compare it to other, much more modern buildings in Auckland.
Unfortunately, the place was locked shut, so we were only able to view it from outside.

The Baptist Taberbacle is a very old Auckland building, dating back to before the Auckland Town Hall was built. The strong pillars and imposing facade are hard to miss. Located near the corner of Queen Street and Karangahape Road, it is easy to get to by foot from the city centre. Well worth a walk up the hill to see this magnificent building.

This is not only a beautiful building . It is a church ; not a museum ! So you will find it open when the church , that is the living community meet on Sunday morning at 10 . 30 am !
I attended the general morning service which was wonderfully multicultural. There were numerous nationalities present.
It is also very child friendly . The children were present and free to move about. They were also very much part of the service.
Hymns/ songs were in both Mairi and English .
If you enter the side door at 10.30 am instead there is global church . This is a cafe style service in simplified English for those whose second language is English.
On Wednesday evening i attended the Bible study of global church ,7.30 pm. During the summer they were showing films of peoples life stories telling how they became Christians. If you are a second language learner or an ESOL teacher you shouldgo to this ! It was a delight !!
On Saturday morning there is a 3 hour language class . This is free !
I loved this place and did not want to leave !!!

This is the place where you will find true friendship and experience Love of God. Global service on Level 3 is very relational and unique with round tables. The sermon messages are very clear and in simple English and easy to understand. After the sermon message, there is a discussion followed by singing worship songs. After the service, we have lunch together. This is the time when you can connect with people and make new friends. Come to this wonderful place. You will love it.
